Love Aaj Kal Continues To Falter On Sunday

Love Aaj Kal continued to falter with collections of 6.50-6.75 crore nett on Sunday which is no growth from Saturday. At best the film will come out same as Saturday if some of the final numbers from the bigger circuits come out more than what is expected now.
The Sunday growth would not have been much even if the film was liked by the target audience so flat collections were pretty much on the cards considering the huge drop on Saturday. The weekend collections of the film be in the 25.50 crore nett region which lower than the 2009 Love Aaj Kal which collected 27 crore nett plus in its first weekend.
The film could face a bloodbath over the weekdays considering this weekend trend and its just about how bad it will be as the film has no chance of survival. The film will actually make a good money for the makers and here its not due to the satellite and digitals rights only but due to India theatrical as very surprisingly it fetched a big price for this typw of film from India theatrical of over 40 crore which covered almost 70% of the costs. It goes without saying the buyers will lose huge amounts of money.
Love Aaj Kal - Poor Weekend Disaster Trend

Love Aaj Kal had a poor weekend of 25.25 crore nett while the trend was even worse than the collections. If we take out Valentines Day then the collections of the film are just around 21 crore nett. The trend is so bad that even after taking out the Valentines Day factor on Friday then still the first day is the best day. .
The rejection is across the board although that does not matter much as most of the country was going to reject anyway but the aim is to get the numbers from the five big metros of Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata and Bangalore but even these places rejected the film. The ticket rates are generally high in these places so you can get numbers with less footfalls which help push the collections. Its rare to see a metro film rejected at this level with the last one probably being Shaandaar in 2015.
Shaandaar had a 11.72 crore opening day which was a holiday and finished with 39 crore nett. This film will struggle to do that as Shaandaar had an extended four day weekend which gave it an extra day in the weeeknd but the rejection is on a similar line. the reason why you dont expect to see these sort of crashes is because they are for a targeted audience and not for the wider audience where the tastes differ making them difficult to cater for. The only thing that remains to be seen is how bad is Monday now. The collections of Love Aaj Kal till date are as follows.
Friday - 11,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 25,25,00,000 apprx
