Abhishek and Sonam both are doing their own thing. They are both really good actors as well.

Sonam made different choices than Deepika which didn't necessarily paid off at a crucial time. Her debut films didn't work out, her second film neither. Then the Thank Yous and Players didn't pay off and finally Mausam which had a great first week end went bust quite quickly and had a far too important budget.

Meanwhile Deepika did movies with big heroes like Saif and SRK at a time they were successful. She also benefitted from being in very public relationship with the heir of the Kapoor clan and when she and Sonam both were not in the best of terms with Ranbir following the KWK episode, Deepika was the one who did a movie with her cheating ex despite everything that happened.

It's not so much that Deepika is better than Sonam, it's just that she did the right movies at the right time. She's more shrewd and career driven too. While Sonam used to do one movie at a time, Deepika would tire herself our doing 3 to 4 movies.

That's how she managed to stay top of mind. But alas, she still failed to be a challenge for Katrina who despite not being a great actress had her moments and had more mementum with her items (something Deepika tried to do but failed).

Otherwise imo Sonam is a better actress and I far prefer her filmography as a Player is still better than a Chandni Chowk to China. But this is my opinion.

Regarding Abhishek, one shouldn't forget that he shone from 2005/2007 but his 2007 releases didn't work out.

But even in his worst movies, he was great as an actor.

Hrithik also had a bad phase of flops. He still managed to have big success here there like Dhoom 2 or War.

What about the people who debuted in 2000 and 2007 who just fail fail fail

More like in your world. Both of them are same when it comes to acting absolutely pathetic from this trio ranbir is the only one who can act

Sonam isnt known for great acting or charismatic screen presence..but she is a terrific model I would say. She really made a name for herself in being a clothes horse than being an actor and DEEPIKA doesnt come close in that aspect - she tries to beat Sonam in fashion game - but is a disaster in Cannes etc - frankly her best performance according to me is Ranjhanna..Neerja was an over hyped performance too. But if Sonam doesnt do another movie in her entire life now - frankly how many are going to miss watching her lol?

Deepika is a star! She has given some credible performances in Piku, Cocktail and Chennai Express..I always find her the weakest in SLB movies though..but find any other actress who could do that power walk down to Jauhar for straight 20 minutes and look as towering and impactful as her..there is none right now in the industry! She is frankly expressive, till she starts talking - her dialogue delivery is her biggest problem.

Sonam(with make up) imo, is better looking than Deepika(with make up)[without make up, dono hi theek thak hai, nothing special]. Although Deepika is miles ahead in sex appeal.

As an actor, Deepika is better, but that is because Sonam is a poor actor, and not because Deepika is a great talent.

In terms of popularity, it is not even a competition. Deepika is much ahead.

Sonam sirf apnay baywaqoof dimaagh aur baywaqoof zubaan ki wajah say peechhay reh gayi hai..

Else she has pretty impressive ratio of successful films, an she performed pretty decent in many films.

If Deepika would have as lousy personality & silly mind & tongue like Sonam, she would have met the same fate as of Sonam despite same hits she delivered.

Personality and being diplomatic & sensible plays a vital role in an actor's success...which many don't realize.

Deepika bohut CHALAAK bohut CALCULATED hai, totally unlike Sonam.

Deepika is only miles ahead of Sonam in acting, because Sonam is usually a piss poor actress. Not because Deepu Rani is maha talented. But yeah, Deepika is far far ahead in popularity and stardom. No doubt about this.

Both Sonam and Deepika are stunning beauties IMO.. with or without makeup... both are blessed with sharp features and have classical Indian looks. Sara-ananya-alia generation doesnt even come close.

However, their big minus is both have that maha annoying nasal voice. 😵
