You keep saying Kalank opened at 18 crores... do you know that Ek Villain opened at 16 crores lol woh bhi back in 2014... woh bhi with flop actor Sid. Even total collections - EV earned more. And that was also a badly reviewed movie.

Keeping that in mind 18-20 is not an acceptable number for big iconic mega superstars like Madhuri, Varun, Alia etc Kalanks opening day should’ve been higher

Shraddha has a much bigger male-dominant fan base. I agree that Alia might be a notch higher than her in the acting department but Shraddha doesn't get films written and made just for her or revolving around her. She has no godfather. Her father isn't a well-reputed person amoung filmy clicks. But honestly, something is so endearing about Shraddha. She isn't the best actress but genuinely seems like a nice soul. I also like the fact that Shraddha has never used her personal life to climb up the ladder how MANY do.

The absolute ignorance of Alia's pull and popularity ij the outside world..On IF is hilarious. ALIA is loved by most for being a good actor. Everything else aside..Nepotism, KJO, being handled everything on a platter..If she had not proved herself..She would be just another Esha Deol or Abhishek or Uday Chopra..Give her some credit if not all..For actually doing a good job and being appreciated for her acting.

Shraddha is a doll..And frankly she seems to be making some good choices now..She has even toned her annoying voice down..She was good in Stree and danced well in Street Dancer 3..But...That's about it. She will never go down in the history as being a great actor..Alia will

Nope. Shraddha is not even close to over. BW currently doesn't have an A-list actress who is also a sex symbol (apologies for the word usage, but it is the truth) except her. The Dishas and Ananyas and Kiaras can try all they want, but they either lack the "it" factor (Disha) or the oomph (the rest).

Shraddha has the potential to be another Madhuri Dixit if she plays her cards right - less than mediocre actress, good dancer, the object of fantasies. 10 years tops as heroine.

Alia, OTOH, will chalk up success after success based purely on acting. In her case also, 10 years tops as heroine. Because once the flush of youth is over, acting won't be enough for the BW audiences.

Someone with both the dazzle and glamor and acting chops like Sridevi is hard to find.

Only Madhuri is a superstar, but her box office pull has gone, just like AB Sr.

Alia and Varun aren't superstars.

Plus Varun is at his low phase since October.

If Ek Villain opened at 16 crores with 2500 screens in 2014 , than Alia also had a 12 crores opner in 1900 screens in 2013 with Arjun Kapoor.

I know 😆. I always wonder what is the criteria for "good acting" for some peeps. Everyone who gives consistent hits is deemed a good actor. Except for Alia, there is really no one (A lister) who debuted mid 2000s to now who actually qualifies for that label. The 80s/90/s/early 00s had at least a few, but the hitmakers were usually the glam girls.
