Will history repeat itself?

Ek Ladki Ko Deha to Aisa Laga was one of the first mainstream Bollywood movies to talk about homosexuality, but was not able to make a mark. It failed badly at the box-office. Now, Ayushman Khurrana is taking on a similar theme in his next movie, and though the movie has considerable buzz, will it be able to reach its target audience? Or will the majority of population who are homophobic choose to stay away from such a film?

Though there is no comparison between Sonam and Ayushman, I feel Ayushman just may have a flop on his hands here. Even with the comic overtones and good performances. Him choosing to do such a film is a big risk in itself.

I feel his hit run may just be temporarily stalled. I want the movie to work for him, but the theme makes it difficult.

If Ayushman can't nobody else will. He's probably the best person to take this movie to audience at this point. Audience is literally watching and applauding him for his choices, if he manage to bring good numbers with this film then he can truly be Considered as superstar, Else.

India is full of homophobes and even if they go watch it,it will be laugh at gay relationship not because they want to educate themselves Abit.

Glad ayush took this script. I am assuming it's gonna flop but that man tried.

Also movie ko subject ko true rehna padega naaki dostana jaisi koi bakwas. ELKDTAL bakwas thi. Crush ko reveal hi pre climax Tak nahi kia. Ek flash scene se audience chemistry nahi dekh pati aur wahi gisa pita educate through plays Wala storyline. Koi nahi dekhta aajkal

This is exactly what I anticipate as well.

I'm crossing my fingers for this movie. India needs to join the rest of the world in new millennium. But yeah, if Ayushman can't make this work, no one can.
