Not just that, she drowned all the 7 babies in her water and Shantanu did not say anything because of that oath and love for his wife. When she goes to drown the 8th baby, that's when Shantanu stops her, and then Ganga tells him the story of the Ashtavasus who stole the Kamdhenu cow. And since the 7 were less guilty, they all died, but the 8th one was more guilty, he will pay for his sins and live a long life of misery to pay for his karma. She takes him away and tells Shantanu that when the right time comes, she will return his son to him to be the mightiest warrior of the Kuru clan - Devvrat aka Bhishma.

Going by that, all these 7 people will pay with their life and Mrityunjay will be saved for the last. Let's see what Rudra does when he comes to know like Shantanu did.

He is likely to break the oath & it will cost Maya life but he will kill MJ I think.
