Still not applicable since the way movies are promoted back then and now has changed drastically. DP has wider reach now due to social media, television promotions through reality shows etc compared to what Madhuri had access to back then . You are just taking inflation into consideration and not other things.

promotions have nothing to do much here.

HAHK ran in almost packed houses from 1994 until 1999 for 5 years, Raja was a blockbuster (1995), Madhuri was altogether on a different level of career high those years, even her name was more than enough to attract the viewers for prem granth (1996) and mrityu dand (1998) which does not materialized due to the grim, dry, disturbing subjects of these mainly heroine oriented movies, and such films very rarely works, be the actresses are in their prime or playing a 2nd innings, UNTIL or UNLESS the movie is really great and superbly well-made , examples Queen, TWM, Kahani etc. (yet their first days were not any good either, they picked up with the word of mouth..and also they were not as such dry preachy or disturbing films either, still had very weak day one business despite been successful overall).

chaapak was not only about deepika..it was meghna gulzars outing after a brilliant talwar and very good razee .. no actress has any box office initial pull. stop being delusional and stop crying for equal salary as their male superstars.

As i said the celebration was long pending. There are same type of fans everywhere. So its unfair to point someone out. I can also say ronaldo fan is the reason why katrina was bashed soo much. lmaoo even without me she got bashed. And even when i was on hiatus every year for months she got bashed, Just excuses n put blame on me to hide fault of others. Same way many dp fans made me bash her n others as well.
