Does method acting impress you?

Aamir Khan is the best example, but even in this generation there are method actors who completely get into the skin of the character and obliterate themselves. Ranveer, Kangana, Ayushman are a few examples. They completely inhabitate the world of the character - including the body language, the dialogues, the emotions etc. you forget the original personality traits of the actors.

Also, method acting or natural acting, the whole point is it should come across as natural on screen..It doesn't matter if you rehearse for a year yet when ppl watch you on screen, you are so natural that the effort is just not seen ( in a positive way where you don feel like someone is trying too hard)..I always see that with Kangana..There is a level of fakeness in her performance..In the sense that you can tell she has worked hard and every expression of hers is measured and calculated..

But is method acting impressive? For me, it is. I think it takes a lot of hard work and effort as well as talent, and not everyone has talent, but they should all try to get into the skin of the character.

I prefer natural acting. In fact, Aamir Khan comes across as very rehearsed in his performances and because of this I don’t enjoy his performances. I don’t feel the emotional connect with Aamir’s acting. I liked his movies until Sarfarosh. I think Sarfarosh is his best performance.

Don't really care where the acting is coming from. Method acting, spontaneous acting, improvising, whatever it is, as long as the actor does a good job and I enjoy it, then its fine. Rajkummar, Vicky, Ayushmann, Vidya, kangana, Taapsee, Rani - all these people are 'good' actors, but ALL of them sometimes bring their unique mannerisms into all their characters. But they do deliver almost everytime, so can overlook those.

I feel the same way about Kangana's acting. Ditto!

It doesn’t matter what went behind the screens as long as the outcome is good and enjoyable for me to be able to be invested in the story that they were trying to tell me and it becomes overall worthy of my time, money and energy that I spent on watching that story!
