For reasons best known to him, the top actor was then offered another script by the producer, but let's come to that a little later.

Now, a little birdie has told us that the superstar's film announcement was made at a rather calculated timing. The reason for this sudden announcement was because he feared a clash of dates with the top Bollywood actor who had initially rejected the script.
Yes, you heard that right. This top actor was soon set to announce his new project with a bigger producer. The release date was set to be around a big festival. And fearing this, the superstar one-upped the top actor by announcing his project much before time.
Coming back to the top actor being offered another script. Well, the chatter is that he has been offered a south remake which originally starred a big star down south.
