Taapsee and Bhumi are average?

Don't know why Taapsee and Bhumi are made out to be so much more than what they are. Are there really a dearth of good actresses out there? Or a lack of alternatives?

Saw Saandh Ki Aankh and wasn't impressed by either of them much. Also in Bala and Badla, Bhumi and Taapsee were the weakest links, respectively. Haven't seen Sonchiriya so can't comment on that.

Why are they getting so much critical acclaim? Are they really so good that they have overshadowed Priyanka, Kangana and Rani this year? Or is it just undeserved hype?

I don't think being on the roundtable is a statement on their being the best actresses of the year. It's also a matter of availability, willingness to come, etc.

Priyanka is the US I believe, but I don't think she would've attended even if she could have. There are some actresses that think they are special and think it's too mainstream to be a part of such stuff. Priyanka, Kareena, Aishwarya etc are like that I feel.

And Rani made a complete joke of herself in last year's roundtable and was totally trolled for the same. I don't think she would want a repeat of that.

Kangana has been having some personal issues with Masand with her sister making below the belt attacks against him so yes she didn't deserve an invite.

OT, Taapsee and Bhumi are fine and competent actresses who are growing with each film and they are much better than any of the overrated nepo kids we got right now. So no they're not average from any angle.

I agree, they are better than the nepo kids but that's like being compared to trash. If we compare them to Vidya, Rani, Priyanka or Kangana, they still have miles to go before being called 'good actresses'. Even Yami is better than them.

All of these aforementioned actresses have a decade and a half of experience behind them. Unlike Bhumi and Taapsee who are just about 5 years into the game. So it's unfair to compare them to veterans.

ETA: Yami is very limited as an actress and Taapsee and Bhumi are leagues ahead of her.

I like Tapsee in Pink . I like the way she delivers her dialogue "I am bored u coward, so stop talking and show me what u can do. "

I don't know about Bhoomi. Never saw any of her movies.
