So this makes Kabir Singh a bigger Blockbuster than War. A Shahid Kapoor film is the biggest Blockbuster of the year, and this is without the help of a big director like Hirani or another bigger star like Hrithik. Also with an adult movie rating which means the footfalls only came from youth, not the family audience.

In 2002 Devdas made more money than Raaz but due to different budgets Raaz got a higher verdict. I guess what im saying is when the highest grosser list is read War will be at the top.

I'm not talking about budget. I'm talking about footfalls which affect the adjusted for inflation collections. Bajrangi Bhaijaan had less collections than PK but had more footfalls which makes BOI give BB higher adjusted inflation figures than PK.

Hrithik's big successes make many celebs as well as their fans tashreef-hurt. Always.

Footfalls = Number of tickets sold.

Murder didn't sell more tickets than Veer Zaara.

War is long forgotten. Although it made more money with hiked prices but has zero impact. Songs didn't help either. KS is bigger hit in terms of reach, footfalls.

Kabir Singh gave rise to debates, discussions. It will be talked in days to come too. There will be l()st threads on IF on how good hrithik looked and that's it. KS is bigger hit in everyway.

It doesn't matter, he still doesn't have the super star appeal. For super star status the star needs to do movies which have mass appeal and have consistent BO performance. The actor needs to rise above the character played. In Shahid case it's neither.

One of the biggest reason why the movie worked well in the Box Office was Shahid's acting in it. Shahid ended up getting many followers in both instagram and Twitter after the film got released. The audience didn't appreciate the character but Shahid's performance, that's how he has managed to rise above the character. Definitely the success of Kabir Singh has taken Shahid's stardom on another level.
