Shahid. That one monologue in the city square in Haider. Unbelievable. Don't think the ones below this can do it. RR can.

Ranbir-Ranveer. Same. While Ranbir has more nuanced performances,Ranveer is more versatile.

Vicky. Could beat BirVeer but filmography is limited to judge.

Sushant-Ayushmaan. Same to same.

I agree with this and I don't..in parts😆

  • RRR -yes, most versatile and nuanced. Sadly, he'll never have the 'look' or the charisma needed for becoming a superstar/megastar..his movies mostly flop, even if critically acclaimed.
  • Ranveer because more versatile and doing it in shorter span than any other
  • then Ranbir because of nuance, even if somewhat repetitive
  • Vicky- fast mover in ranks, but has shown tremendous potential
  • Ayushman -not because he gets the hits but because he also gets critical acclaim and has honed his performances.
  • Sushant-had the best chance among these guys: the best looks, very good training ground in TV, already had a fanbase, seemed inclined to improve..but lost his ways in some shoddy movies..
  • Shahid last BECAUSE, although superb in Haider, had the experience and years on his side. How many years and movies he's done since debut to Haider?? How many chances he's got until then?

Whilst Ranveer was ON from the get-go and became nuanced in Lootera, which was only his 3rd movie.

Ranbir also gave Barfi on his 10th (or 11th?|) outing. And also continued to sustain for a bit, before doing series of flops..But he did well quite early in the career

So compared to them..Shahid had muuuch muuch longer time to 'hone his craft'. So if we take his best, Haider, being done in his 11 th year in BW..then that's QUITE A LONG TIME to become good.

Edited to add:Shahid had alot of experience..he was in16 movies till Kaminey, 27 till Haider..!! Shahid has over 35movies total.Ranveer did Lootera as his 3rd movie and has just 11-12 movies in total; Ranbir has 17-18 in total..

Heck even Vicky, Sushant and Ayushman only took a few movies to start developing into good actors. If they all had SO MANY opportunities as Shahid had...of course they could try hone their craft and deliver a superb performance.

Just for the sake of honesty , Ranveer is my fave because I feel he has it all to be a total package and a huge star, acting AND Box office -wise.

Then it would be Vicky..same as Ranveer..acting and BO potential..

I'd have liked Sushant if not for so many bad choices both personal and professional)

Ranbir and Shahid I've considered always decent to good actors, sometimes even better than that, but annoy me with this BW clique that pushes them too much and gives them exxagerated praise for anything..and a ton of opportunities that are most often than not wasted. When I check their filmography I often think what others could have done with the movies that they get on platter.I've also disagreed with their personal conduct in private. I can still accept and confirm they have acting talent, though, in my view , theirs is exxagerated to the max because of BW wanting them to top all others.

RRR and Ayush don't appeal to me aesthetically but I can see their talent regardless and Ayush especially changed my mind about him like a dozen times. RR's Newton and Trapped are really great. Truly. But I always have a thing about faces and his distracts me a lot. Still, he is a very good actor.

Anyway, that's my opinion.

Shahid never got favoured treatment by Bollywood insiders, dude doesn't even hang out with BW folks. Did you just saw his dad is actor, so he must be getting same treatment as other nepo kids??

even if he does not hang out, he always gets big movies despite flops after flops, just like any other nepo kid, that's what it matters.

Big movies like?? The only big movies he has done this decade are Padmavaat and Shaandaar, both of which he got post giving critically acclaimed works like Udta Punjab and Haider, and let's be honest in both the movies, he was just the token A list star casted for some credibility, while main focus in both movies were other stars: Alia in Shaandaar and DeepVeer in Padmavat.

Baaki toh he hardly gets big movies.

Also wasn't the problem about bad actors getting roles because of nepotism despite being utter flops, so what is the big deal if Shahid gets movies despite not being a box office darling.

Yeah I think she pretty much went by that.😆

But it's true that Shahid didn't experiment as an actor before Kaminey, which was also one of the reasons of his down fall because he was stuck to chocolate hero image. Whether you call it lack of opportunities or something else. One reason might be that actor's performances and acting skills weren't taken seriously or into consideration until this decade. It was only at the internet age when people started reading critic reviews and started taking acting seriously, actors too became conscious of that and started doing performance oriented roles.
