Roshni wiped her tears away and walked off, without even once looking back. Yes, she was hurt but she would never let Aman know. Yes, this 1 month deadline broke her heart into a million pieces but she wouldn't let it come on her face cause she didn't want anybody to pity her. Yes, Aman didn't care about her but that wouldn't affect her mind and resolve about protecting him and his family.
She was slowly walking through the corridor when she heard voices from the room round the corner.
Sara was non stop blabbering lines that she couldn't comprehend. Curious, she stepped in.
"Par yeh no na saka aur ab yeh alam hai...."
She spoke without a break.
"Kya ho raha hai yahan?" She spoke finally.
"Arey Bhabhi! Yeh dekho na, mere college mein Amitabh Bachchan ka tribute show hai aur mujhe yeh itni difficult lines de di hain." She said, irritated.
"Batana mujhe"
She read the lines.
"Arey yeh toh mujhe bilkul yaad hai!"
"Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai
Ki zindagi teri zulfon ki narm chaon mein guzarti toh..." she started yelling at the top of her voice in excitement.
Aman, who was passing through, quickly caught up her voice. He couldn't understand who was Roshni talking to and most importantly, why?
"Guzarti toh shadaab ho bhi sakti thi..."
His inquisitiveness got the better of him, as he was forced to look into it. Somewhere, his head was angry as boiling steam. Who was it, for whom she was narrating these lines.
He clicked the lock and entered suddenly.
Roshni stopped speaking at once.
He stepped in and asked angrily, "Yeh ho kya raha hai?"
Saima explained the needful to him and he heaved a sigh of relief. He felt embarrassed that he had started wandering into such unwanted stray things.
"Toh Roshni tum logon ko yeh dialogues sikha rahi hai?" He said, jokingly.
"Ji yes" she said, turning her face away with attitude.
"Accha bolo phir, main bhi sunn raha hoon" he said, crossing his arms over his chest and slightly leaning against the window.
She looked at him, he was looking absolutely handsome in that pose. Her heart refused to accept what the mind told her.
Yes, she was here only for a month but he had never made her feel lonely. Yes, he will send her away after the Jinn is defeated but he has never been disrespectful to her or utilized her for his own benefit. Yes, he was rude but she - was in love.
She stammered. His brown, cute eyes were distracting.
"Kabhi kabhi ... mere dil mein... khayal" she looked away.
He laughed and said, "Aapse nahi hoga"
He turned around and faced the door to leave when he heard,
"Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai"
He turned back. The tone was serious and sad. She stared at him right in the eye.
"Ki zindagi teri zulfon ki narm chaon mein guzarne paati toh shadaab ho bhi sakti thi..." she walked towards him.
"Par yeh ho na saka", a tear escaped her eye.
"Par yeh ho na saka aur ab yeh aalam hai
Ki tu, tera gham, teri justajoo bhi nahi"
She recalled all the moments when he had so heartbreakingly and easily said that she would leave them after a month. He had held her hand that day and she thought he would never let it go now. But alas, that wasn't true.
She looked down. He realised the importance of the words being spoken and his eyes welled up too. He took a step towards her but she him signalled to stop.
"Guzar rahi hai kuch iss tarah se zindagi jaise
Ise kise ke sahaare ki aarzoo bhi nahi"
"Wow Bhabhi! Aapko toh poora yaad hogaya!" Saima clapped and hugged her.
The lone tear fell off both the eyes. He looked down in disappointment and she never stopped looking into those addictive brown orbs. He was guilty and helpless. She was just, heartbroken.
And he sure got the answer for who those lines were.
