I wish someone from/journalists would've that much basic knowledge & some courage to rub that on the face of that unnecessarily arrogant Tapsee.

Hindi is not the national language. It isn't Tapsee's language. It isn't the only language she works in. It wasn't the only language represented at the film festival.

So yeah, she was perfectly correct.

Is not Hindi national language of India ? Just like Urdu is national language of Pakistan so that the whole nation can communicate onna single platform or atleast understands one mode of communication collectively being a nation ?

I've watched the video clip. She did nothing offensive, neither was she cocky.

That's surprising..why a foreign language is national language.... Why not very own language as NL that too which is so widely spoken & understood throughout the country compared to English..

anyways

Its not. But most thinks so. A propagated lie perhaps. Pakistan does not have so many languages as India. Why would one language be the national language of India which speaks so many languages?

@bold - In that case why cant whole world have one language to communicate collectively? Kaunse language ko choose karen? 😆

To preserve diversity many countries either do not have a official national language or multiple languages are adopted as national language. Japanese is not japan's national language. They have other lesser known languages which are spoken in some areas. They cannot discriminate against others. And You expect one language to represent whole India?

English is not the national language, its the official language.. India is a vast country with various languages, so English and Hindi both are used for official purpose

Nope, Hindi is the official language but not national language........ that is one of the reason south indian states refuse to adopt it.....
