Nice joke😆. Cocktail was Deepika's first hit after 5 back to back flops. Love Aaj Kal was her first hit after Chandni Chowk flopped. If Saif wasn't the crowd puller, then no one was.

His personality has always been the issue. He was arrogant and thought that schmoozing and mingling with his peers was beneath him (like his wife). He also became very picky with his movie choices. You need to have a charismatic and/or friendly personality off screen to become a superstar.

A real shame as he is actually a very good and versatile actor and his performances rarely disappoint.

Frankly speaking he is a decent actor, but the films that were made when he entered film industry - the types that saw Akshay Kumar and Sunil Sherry rising were just not his cup pa. At this time he was more popular for falling in love with a woman much older than him- Amrita Singh. Fall out with mother and having a family with her.

Then there was a phase 2 which is the Kal ho na Ho phase, I really believe Karan Johar kept offering him second fiddle in movies which he didn’t see himself as and therefore made some wrong choices. It is said he even got kal ho na ho becos Amrita singh requested Kjo to cast him. Amrita was responsible for image change - made him lose weight and look young - he got Parineeta and DCH which became hits. (New found success and trying to make a name saw them divorced and unlike what people make of it now, it was a bitter divorce, to the point Saif never paid alimony to Amrita claiming in his divorce proceedings that he didn’t earn enough)

Then Phase 3 which was post divorce and Saifeena phase, where known more for the affair and marriage with Kareena, but even here he did hit it good with Omkara, Hum Tum and Love Aaj Kal. He botoxed to look good with Kareena I suppose,

This is Phase 4, which frankly he will be known for Sacred Games. End of the day this phase will also see some good work from him but he will be equally known for as Sara and Taimur’s dad.

whatever we may say about his sale ability - which he doesn’t have much of, he is a survivor and a good actor. His personal life has been on display but somehow he comes away unscathed and his interviews let him get away from looking cheap and tacky. This guy has some tenacity that keeps him interesting

His son might be a superstar, he has Saif's face with a better body and height.

I remember reading that the alimony promised was never paid. In fact, it is also said it stopped earlier than promised. Amrita also attempted to return to TV so as to manage or show responsibility which is when the decision that saif would pay for Sara’s Columbia education instead was agreed upon. Of course this is all here say..who the heck knows the real story
