There’s a difference is disapproving and forcing.

My Dad or Mom never told us to wear Salwar Kurta coz we are going to Village. I just did coz kyu faltu ka drama yar. Thik hai.. matter of few days.

And We may not find a big deal with Mini’s clothes but India’s rural Village oldies are set in their ways. There are people like Chachi that exist.

If Babita want she can make adjustment for few days regarding Pallu, if she doesn’t — then rebel against it. Which Babita won’t. Coz I guess she understands Old generation and their rigid mentality! Mini too can deny agreeing to Chachi’s wishes, but that will create arguments. But it’s up to her if she wants to stand up or not. Personally Mujhe to koi big deal nai lagti coz its just a matter of few days. Haa, if it’s gonna be everyday’s thing, you can protest about it!

I also remember HS being surprised at how Imarti was modern but her bapu was traditional because he didn't want to eat or drink anything in there house.

Perhaps it's because of her that Babita realizes she can be a great wife and great businesswoman by balancing things without taking away from either role.

Exactly, not everything is about women empowerment, sometimes it's just about the path of least resistance, or temporary fix.

Yup!

Don't know the legalities behind it, but through this marriage, Minnie is a Singh now. Even if she hasn't formally adopted the name, she will be recognized as HS' daughter now. They are, as you said, a part of his family. Just like his actions will affect her, similarly, her actions will affect him too. Furthermore, she's not going to give them any special treatment or walk around eggshells. She's going to be fully assertive over them. This is who I am to HS and it's because of this bond of ours that I have these expectations from you. If she's treating them pure haq se, then they too have that right to treat her like their own.
