I am writing this for forum activity plus I have some time to spend in this forum

I hope you like my effort BY THE WAY, IT IS SHARLENE

Here is a small post of the story that I intend to write enjoy

It all started as another normal day a single mother was =attending to her five year old son serving him breakfast so that he would not be late for his school bus ten she had to rush to the bus stop to get her bus which takes her to the location of her current job.

“Ansh hurry son we are so late today”

“Ma it is not my fault that I got up late” he answered with a cute pout and puppy eyes

“I know my pet forgive me for yelling at you mama is just so nervous about her presentation”

“Mama you are the best and you always tell me we can only do our best and everything will be okay” saying this the little boy reached for his mother’s check and give her a kiss.

Ansh and his mom left their tiny one room home and ran down the steps out of the building they bumped into their neighbor a tall handsome man who always had a sad expression in his eyes “Good morning uncle ji” said Ansh

“Good morning Ansh, Aarti ji” he replied

“Good morning Yash Ji you are late too?” asked Aarti

“Yes and my boss will be angry but you know what I really don’t care much today”

“But what if he fires you good -paying jobs are so difficult to get”

“I am young and strong and not afraid of using my hands I will get another construction job look at the many buildings being constructed these days and besides I only have myself to provide for”

“I can understand that Yash ji but, in my case, I have to keep my job if I lose this it is back to being a maid or waitress for me”

I got excited thinking you were reposting my favorite story 😭

But the story does seem interesting. I wonder how Aarti ended up as a struggling single mom, and why Yash is always sad. Apparently they have very opposing views on employment though. And of course Ansh being his sweet self

They came and stood in front of the building the schoolbus was already moving but Yash ran and stopped the driver. Mother and son ran quickly behind, Ansh got into the bus he was the last child in and his mom stood to wave at him.

The adults both walked to the bus stop with Aartithanking Yash for his help at the stop Aarti joined the long line while Yashcontinued walking to his job site.

“What a nice man he is” Aarti self talk “I wonder where are his family or if he too is an orphan like me”

Finally, the bus came it was crowded and she had to stand as they drove along she noticed Yash entering the construction zone he even walked sadly as nothing mattered anymore to him

Aarti ran from the bus stop to her office building clutching tightly to her bags she made it inside apologizing to many persons whom she passed along the way almost shoving them out of her way. On entering her office, she found her team members leaving for the conference room for their presentation, some of them looked at her clearing showing their disapproval with her. It was clearly shown through their body language that they did not like or want her there for them she was just a poor creature, an unsophisticated cat who crawled into their perfect world.

One thing they learned about her is that she was no pushover and she proudly stood her ground, conference room she took a detour into the ladies room to comb her hair and made sure she was presentable it mattered not that her clothes were old and not of the current fashion they were clean and had no wrinkles, so what if she had to stick her shoes the night before with glue and give it a quick polish. In her opinion, she looked presentable enough for her presentation. This was going to be a turning point in her career. If the executives liked her presentation and decided to use her ideas not only will it be good for her team but it will bring recognition to her work.

Aarti entered the conference room just minutes before the executives, they were all men, a father and his three sons Aarti heard that they actually were four sons but the second son the current CEO of the company was on break; they were the owners of this international multi-faceted cooperation along with them were the current board members of this branch and the lawyers.

The only females present on the main team were the personal assistance, who also looked down their nose at Aarti. It was bad enough that the two other females present were part of Aarti’s team also kept giving her the evil eye.

Aarti was the last to speak she give and update about her current project and her projections for the future, the financial success of her project and the long term benefits for the company.

Mr. Scindia senior was impressed with her he had heard about her commitment and business acumen she was clearly a leader, but he was a bias man who would have preferred if it was a man who was this intelligent. After all, men are the smart ones, the breadwinners, the leaders, women are the homemakers, the wife, mother, the unpaid maid who are supposed to be quiet and wait hand and foot on the men giving them physical pleasure when they demand it.

Women did not belong in the boardroom unless they werethe PA they were not suppose to make major decisions but here he was faced by this young lady who clearly was a leader a take the bull by the horns individual.

Mr. Scindia looked at his sons they were clearly impressed with her presentation and not her looks the girl had on old cheap clothes, no makeup or jewelry not like the women in their family or any female they associate themselveswith. They questioned her on every aspect of her presentation testing her hoping that she will falter and make a mistake, but to their surprise, she did not. Aarti met them head on showing no signs of nervousness or that she was in any way fearful of them or them constant questions, after all it was their money and company’s reputation at stake so she was mentally prepared for their barrage of questions. Aarti had dealt with men and a few women like them before, she knew that if a promotion was offered it would go to one of the men on her team, and she would have to do all the work and that man will get all the glory.

It came as a surprise when after the meeting the Scindiasons sought her out introduced themselves and praised her work, this did not godown well with her team.

arthi is a very brave individual who never backs down n always willing to achieve her goals no matter how people look at her appearance because her only goal is to provide for her sons future. I am glad she got the job n there shouldn't be any discremanation between a man n woman when it comes to occupation. Thank you for updating looking forward for next chpt.

So the Scindhias are chauvinistic pigs 😡. Guess Yash is the son on "break." I wonder how and why he left the family. Mr Scindhia will probably hate having an "intelligent" working bahu gauging from his attitude. I love this Aarti who chooses to rise above her circumstances 👏👏 atta girl!

When Aarti returned to her work station she found her colleagues speaking about her it was clear as day that she had no friends here only competitor but that did not matter much to her all she wanted was to do her job and receive her salary.

An hour before the end of the workday Aarti received a call to the board room when she arrived there, she noticed the HR dept head, and the three Scindia sons. A letter was given to her Aarti was nervous but she somehow managed to control her emotions her self-talk “what if this is a termination letter what will she do this job was her lif line without it she would have to scrape by until she gets another well-paying job, ,becoming a maid or janitor was something she was not looking forward too”

“Ms Dubey won't you open the letter” enquired the eldest son

Aarti smiled back at him and carefully opened the letter it was a letter outlining that she had received a promotion a new office not just a cubicle three floors up from her current one and she had her staff of about forty people. The salary was like five times more than what she was currently receiving she had more vacation days, plus she was required to travel out of state for business purpose

“MS Dubey all you need to do is sign these copies and originals”

Another Scidia son looked like the youngest and the easier going one held her personal file in his hand“Impressive” he said “I will be personally working with you my name is Preteek” and he held out his hand to her which she happily took.

Aarti was an employee of this company for the last four years and this was her second promotion all the sacrifice was worth it all the night classes to complete her bachelors and master degrees. Life was a struggle for her she had loans to pay all associated to her education. Her priority now wasAnsh his education a good place for him to live to keep him healthy and happy and don’t spoil him.

On her way home, she called her neighbor Radha ma a single woman who looked after Ansh for her since Aarti moved into that building with a month old Ansh. Radha ma was a good woman who lost her family at an early age she was a seamstress but on occasions work as a maid for the wealthy families who lived in mansions a few miles away from their humble building.

Radha ma was excited to hear Aarti’sgood news and they both decided to celebrate by cooking up a special dinner. On her way home from the market Aarti met Yash he looked tired and sad but he offered to carry her heavy bags for her so Aarti invited him over for dinner.Radha saw them together and invited both into her humble home for tea and snacks. Ansh was there doing his homework under Radha ma supervision he respectfully called her his nani ji.

Yash enjoyed spending time with this happy trio they had become his family in the last few months that he lived here, they respected his privacy yet they easily trusted him a complete stranger who move into the same floor of their humble building. On day he asked ma why did she trust him so and she replied that a person’s eyes tells the truth that eyes are the windows to a person soul plus this is the twenty- first century and so many residents here own a smartphone, computer, and tv social media is an important part of life if he was a criminal in hiding he would have been easily caught by now.

In Aarti’s room they had their dinner Radha brought her small table and two chairs and Aarti also had a small table and two chairs. Aarti served Yash and once again she noticed all the bruises on is hand he clearly was not accustomed to doing this type of heavy construction work but the size and shape of his muscles spoke a different story making both she and Radha ma believe that he had a good office job and was a regular at a gym.

“Thanks Ma and Aartiji for the meal” smiled Yash

“Not a problem son “answered Radha “You know it is a celebration today Aarti got a promotion in her office, here let us have sweets and cholate cake”

“A promotion Aarti ji congrats” and he offered her his hand for a handshake, “I think a gift is well deserved.”

“No you don’t have to buy me anything Yash ji”

“Aarti Ji I insist both you and Radha ma have been good friends and support to me these past few months”

“But son we have not done much a few meals now and again, chatting with you and helping you settle in this building”

“Ma that may not seem like a lot to you but to me it is everything when I first arrived here you two could of left me sitting on the stairs or locked in my room or even mind your own business and leave me to the constant attack by the undesirables who live here and were out to steal what little I own. I was so depressed and wanted to die but you would not let me encouraging me to live helping me to get my job I admit I still have a long way to go emotionally before I speak or return to my old life that is if I ever want to return to it but for now today I am at peace and I have both of you to thank and of course you my mini chatterbox champ Ansh”

“Uncle Ji I am not a chatterbox girls are chatterbox both ma and nani ji are chatterboxes” laugh Ansh

“Okay Baba then what do you like doing?”

“Playing sports cricket, football and I want to learn to swim”

“Well guess what I love sports too starting from tomorrow with your ma’s permission we can start having fun after you finish school”

“Ma please”
“After you finish your homework you can with Radha’s ma permission and don’t trouble Yash ji if he is too tired after work”

“Okay” and he hugged his ma naniji and Yash

“Time for you to go and brush your teeth and get ready for bed”
“Okay but I want to request something from uncle ji”

Aarti looked alarmed what was her son going to as of Yashji granted he was a nice man but she did not want her son to step over the line of friendship

“What is it son?”

“Yash uncle I want to tell me a bedtime story please”

“Okay then I will tell you a story”
