Kabir Singh is UNDER-whelming, Empty/Hollow & Overly-appreciated

No theories please, just let me be clear I like Shahid mainly as a very good performer, so no conspiracy issues here contrary to forum "untold trends/covert codes". 🤪

Just straight heart felt feelings after watching this film over Netflix.

*It was a GOOD movie, plz don't get me wrong, but was not worth the hype surrounded around it for some reason.

* The movie as a whole felt KINDA EMPTY & HOLLOW, like not too much material, hard hitting moments , contrary to the PERCEPTION BEFORE watching it, based on hype.

*Barring few sequences in the entire movie, no scene races your pulse, unlike the impression one tend to get b4 watching it, again based on sky rocketing reviews, suggesting "this" factor. Was expecting something more intense & dark in QUALITY and SCREEN-TIME WISE, on the lines of like Anurag Kashyap's movies.

* The sudden ACCEPTANCE in climax from both of the families felt TOO CONVENIENT, LESSER CONVINCING, hush hush and does not jell with the previous reels of the movie.

Its a good movie, but I WONDER WHAT MADE IT DO SO MUCH OF A BUSINESS?

(and I have absolutely no pointer in mind about the MCP factor, no moral policing here, just stated the heartfelt emotions after the viewing).

good music and people were starving for a passionate love story. that is what clicked with the audience. Many guys want Preeti in life and Many girls want Kabir Singh in life, yes they are stupid, but we cannot take right of people's right to be idiot. So for them this movie was the fantasy world.

For me.personally it was a time pass movie, not terrible but neither great.

I started watching it (from reviews/reports) from the perspective of an ENTIRELY SELF DESTRUCTIVE flick, which it was not, and I didnt got as many hard hitting sequences which I was expecting.

forsure , not terrible at all, infect a good one. But so much of an appreciation and such HUGE business is a surprise.

appreciation was from audience, most of the influential critics and a significant part of social media bashed it. And huge business shouldn't come as surprise, Indian audience are sucker for happy ending romantic movies.

Yes,I too was explaining from a layman/audience point of view.

for me these holier than thou SM dramas r uber annoying so I never took them into perspective.

seems like u have a pointer as far as the happy ending thing is concerned. Thank you.

Another INTERESTING thing I've observed, KS is an ALTERED VERSION of DEVDAS, soooo many resemblances (excluding that sudden happy climax).

*Male lead is much richer & influential than the female.

*Both leads madly love each other.

* Misunderstandings occurred mainly due to male lead's arrogance, personality issues & rage.

*Male lead started drinking endlessly.

* Had a side kick as well like chunni babu

*Even the SWEET GRANNY who always WISH to UNITE the couple was there in both films.

* And as I stated, only the climax was different which makes these two films unique.

Iam guessing Kiara made some difference..she suited the innocent girl and also acted perfectly. Also looking damn beautiful..after Sonali Bendre, she and Disha are the most beautiful girls in BW

Kiara and Disha remind me somewhat of young Madhuri though she was still way more special

Kiara was good. pleasant addition ..lookslike a real heroine material unlike most nepo kids
