The Lion King grossed 150 Crores in India which is huge for an animated film, as animation genre doesn't have many takers in India.

The highest grossing animated film in Bollywood is Hanuman which was released way back in 2005. Its total lifetime collections were mere 5 Crores(adjusted for inflation its 11 Crores).

But now that The Lion King turned out to be a Blockbuster in India, will audience accept Bollywood animated movies if they are photorealistic? Should Bollywood invest in animation genre?

Chota Bheem type animation hogi toh possible nahi hai.

Plus story should be exploring Indian mythology, the only way to capture the interest of adults.

Animation is huge untapped genre for Bollywood. When our actors get too old they can stay eternally young with these voices. 😆🥳

Bollywood has made animated Mahabharat and Ramayan.

But all have been half hearted attempts and mythology isn't limited to Ramayan and Mahabharat

india is dumb when it comes to animation m sorry, we didn't even create good comic books to let them transform into great movies,

we have been sticking on mythological stories since ages and still stuck on it. Animation in India saw its golden period in 2011-2013 where there was a boom and several animated and VFX movies like Ra.one, Arjun, Delhi Safari came back to back, now it has gone down

and we'r back to square one. I don't know how these animation institutes are running where they can't even provide decent jobs to students let alone helping the industry.
