Exactly Mansi... we're in for a redemption track in its true sense but not whitewashing. Sorry to bring in other shows reference but Ishwari in kuchh rang had the best redemption track and that's why the show is class apart. If they show Bajaj facing the consequences of his wrong deeds and then if Prerna falls in love with him it's fine after all it is and always should be her decision. But here they're so desperate to start PreRish romantic track that it's looking totally forced. In doing so they've ruined the entire essence of Prerna. 🥺

She didn't say to write a bad story. She had made it very clear that Prerna-anurag love each other, they get married to different people, pre falls in love with bajaj but still AnuPre will always have a soft corner for each other

This was the core plot which probably must have been conveyed to the writers.

But the writers are interested in retaining both the fandom and that's why they are doing this ping-pong.

The only person I am feeling bad for here is Parth the actor and Anurag the character. Parth is so talented and writers are trying to reduce him to a second lead.

I'm sorry, I know its digressing for the topic. But when everytime the lousy story writing of this season gets blamed on S1, it is infuriating and fans of S1 like me cannot help retaliate!

I can understand but I don't understand why season 1 is dragged without any relation to the topic. It should be avoided as my topic is only about the poor writing and trying to understand what's going wrong on the part of the writers. That's all.

I just reacted to some member saying all this crap is happening coz EK is pushing S1 storyline down our throats and that AP in S1 didnt have a strong bond.

But I guess, I should also react less...mere kaunse chacha ne likha hai S1 for me to take personal offence 😆

But the point here in question is why would the writers destroy their own work themselves with such crap writing? Can we think of some possible answers?

One possibility is that their hands are tied which obviously would be the case with Mata. She is still stuck up in 20 years old concept which doesn't work here.

In my opinion, it is the first possibility more than others. I do not think it is the constraint of contract period. Sorry to bring in the reference of the previous season, but it is just for clarity of timeline. As they are rebooting the Show that ran for 5+ years, this season can be calibrated to run for at least three years (no multiple marriages as per actors and also a five-days-a-week run time instead of four days the previous season). The principal actors' contract would have been drawn accordingly.

I can see no reason either. So I will attribute the shoddy writing and inconsistent characterization to two factors:

1) Someone has already mentioned it. It is Ekta's s ego. However, she needs to introspect and understand that she cannot please both the set of audiences, especially not at this point when the story has already taken a 180 degrees turn, either for better or worse. Keep aside the male leads, neither fandom is happy with Prerana's loyalty versus soulmate jaap, nor will any female viewer relate with her character.

2) Secondly, they have grossly misinterpreted the TRP audience's demography. They surely are not what they used to be a decade and a half back. As women themselves are more independent and empowered today than then, the TRP aunties are likely to be similar. Which female will feel a connect to this FL's character? Hence, the disconnect.

3) Thirdly, with advancement of technology and advent of new media, television is not the only medium of everyday visual entertainment. There are cloud channels, web- series and subscribable entertainment portals like Netflix. Hence, television is not the only option for 8 p.m viewing. Besides, it is not only Ekta Kapoor and Star Plus ruling the roost anymore. There are other channels and other Shows running simultaneously at the prime time. It won't take viewers a second to change the channel if they are subjected to all the convoluted mess disguised as mahantaa and balidaan.

Point 2 and 3 can also be attributed to lack of research on Ekta and Balaji's part. As human demography has evolved, as technology has evolved, the Shows that air in television need to evolve too. Hence, every production house need to spend a considerable amount on research and development before launching a new Show or remaking the earlier one.

The storyline during PRB's first marriage was very strong. PRB's relationship was built up without compromising on AP's bond. Prerna did not do ridiculous things like try to convince Anurag that she was a gold digger...she proudly sacrificed for him and made no bones it.

She did not try to make peace between Anu and Rish but slowly and steadily rebuilt Rishabh's home and family while being shown working full time.

There were no kitchen politics...Anu and Rish used to have boardroom showdowns.

And even when Rish fell in love with Prerna, she handled it very maturely without spoiling her budding bond with RB.

KZK1 was miles ahead of KZK2...it was much more modern and progressive, and forget everything else, it actually HAD a story, something which is sorely lacking in KZK2.

If you ask me there was no need to remake the show in the first place. And now if EK is insisting, she should stick to the original storyline without creating chaos with her half baked new twists

Actually these are the only reasons.. s1 was successful because sp didnt have competition and everyone agrees. The actors were better along with the story . Now they can't have so many leaps with great grand children . This concept ekta changed long ago..but why would anyone watch a dukh bhari dastan which they know will end up badly ? None of them will he happy in their life and face only kasauti? The overall mood of the serial is negative specially when audience knows the whole story from s1..those who dont can Google it .

The competition is severe now with web series catching everybodys attention..daily soap formats will also change to limited episode series. They will have to make the storyline crisper and better to keep the audience hooked. Drama sells but good and entertaining drama..not depressing drama...

For now i can only say what shivi said..prerna choose one man and stick to him and please for God sake dont look back.

I am sorry Di.. Even I dont want to drag s1 in s2 related topic but being a die heart fan its hard to not comment when someone is criticizing s1 storyline which was actually better than.. Okay, i should stop repeating myself.
