I don't think he is ready to play mostly side characters in movies just yet, especially when other stars from his gen are still leads and being successful. But unless he suddenly makes a comeback, that's how his career will go (or early retirement)

Either he should retire or should do movies that do justice to his age because whether you agree or not it's evident that he looks too old to be doing all those romantic hero type movies. He needs to chose script wisely and should go for character driven roles may be. Also the vfx they do to make him look young don't help much. He has aged badly in comparison to his contemporaries may be because of excessive smoking or whatever. Anyhow, the thing is unless he makes a grand comeback which might be a miracle, he should go for roles like LYZ, the only role I liked of him in past few years.
