My question : Is Christianity a religion?

My View - Christianity is not a religion, its a lifestyle, its the only way to God. If Christianity was a religion, then it would have spoken of governments and parties. But Christianity is about sinless life, holiness and purity. No other religions speaks about holiness, that itself proves that Christianity is not a religion.

well i don't know if christianity is a religion but a chatolic is a religeion and i believe in it since i was born.

christianity is about ur way of living prasing jesus if ur a christian than u believe in it, prasing god for all the beautiful creation he makes day by day. Purity and Holiness is something u are.

If u r a chatolic than u have to go to church and pray to go every sunday {thats what i do} and u have to confess all ur sins to heavw done wrong,if they dissobeyed the 10 commandments.

you know, it's so annoying when people say stuff like the bolded text above or stuff like, "i'm not christian; i'm catholic." CATHOLICISM IS A FORM OF CHRISTIANITY! christianity is the name given to the religion in which people believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God. that's the main difference between christianity and other religions. if you believe in that then, by definition, you're CHRISTIAN.catholicism is simply a denomination of christianity, much like lutheranism and presbyterianism. certain beliefs and customs are just slightly different among these denominations, but they are still christian.

i just find it so ignorant that followers of a particular religion (whatever it may be) often times don't even know what the heck they're following. so, the bottom line is, if you think that christianity isn't a religion, then that just rules out catholicism as well.

who ever said that a religion must teach about governments and parties in order to be considered a religion? how does that make it any more of a religion than not speaking about governments and parties?

also, tell me this: which world religion is not about sinless life, holiness, and purity? i bet that if you have any knowledge about world religions, you wouldn't be able to answer that question. until you can answer all the questions i have posed, it can be said that you have no strong argument against christianity being a religion.

and, by the way, i'm not christian (if that removes any bias).

one other thing: judging from some of your previous discussions, it seems like you have something against every single religion aside from hinduism, which is what i assume you follow (i could be wrong). before starting a religious discussion, i suggest that you become a little more open-minded towards other religions. just a suggestion...

it seems that, contrary to what you have here, he seems to be putting christianity at a higher pedestal than other religions. according to him, christianity is more into holiness and less into the governmental unholiness than other religions. if anything, it seems to be a case of reverse generalization and not like what you have up there😉😊

i read the topic again, and i see what you're saying. when i read his statements, i interpreted them in a completely different way. when someone questions whether or not a certain religion can be considered a religion, more than often i think one would view the question in a negative sense, as i did. in any case, the important thing to note is that what makes christianity so great or other religions not so great to go as far as saying that christianity isn't a religion? as i've stated before, which world religion is not about sinless life, holiness, and purity?

agree.

i also view religion differently from how the topic has it. something is more religion imo if it is more institutionalized, dogmatically believes there is "only one way or the wrong way", and requires one to suspend rational thinking while believing blindly in scientifically implausible, medieval notions of people fornicating away to perpetual glory or burning for eternity with snakes for bad company. 😊

yes, the food-court approach to religion.😛 pick one restaurant for italian, another for mexican, and third for chinese. of course, we could also try a restaurant that offers it all, no?😆
