She left her wedding when she got to know that Aman is not married, he is dying and he convinced her to live her life happily with a man who loves her.

PS : Aman was a stalker, I learn new things from this forum. Wasn't he actively involved in Naina's life? How is that stalking? He was nosy, not a stalker.

Completely agree. Naina loved Aman and she falling for rohit is also a right thing . Everyone has first love and heartbreak. No one can decide at what time she should move on from her first love except her heart. Though no one forget their first love ,but people find love again in their life. Even in Titanic the main female character found love again after losing the man she loved.

It's all very complicated and not as simple as it seems to be. And I want to write my theory as well but I'll just skip because I'm feeling lazy.😆

I think she loved Aman, but was not fully in love with him. There were moments that made me wonder if it was romantic or platonic love. Overall, it seemed tilted more towards platonic love. Aman was like a ray of sunshine in Naina's love. Someone who showed her a new path of happiness and gave her hope. Given more time, she would have probably fallen deeply in love with him. Under the circumstances, their relationship could not develop and Naina picked Rohit. So there was a love between her and Aman, a love that's truly hard to properly define.

u should ask the other way..did SRK even love her? because they did show her falling for him in some ways or too but the guy's love looked forced...he kept poking fun at her right till the end, even the proposal he made was made for saif.

i found the dull n dry, it worked because it released in 2003, it would definitely flop if released today

Aman brought a ray of hope in Naina's life. He made her believe that things could be normal.

Everybody else accepted her for whom she was but Aman challenged her. She felt for him because he actually attempted to bring about a change in her. He succeeded in doing so.

Kal Ho Naa Ho is my all time favourite film. I love it. I would love to read opinions on here.

Have watched the film so many times, didn't know there's also a character named Sameer in the film.

If you are talking about Rohit then yes, he loved Naina. Aman only pushed him to go and get his love.

I agree that it was practical for Naina to move on and live her life. That's what will actually happen in real life instead of living your whole life for someone who is not with you. Its not a right way to judge whether Naina loved Aman or not.

But yeah, Aman used to follow Naina without her knowledge. That's stalking.

As far as I remember Aman was not married. Sonali was his doc in the film who was married to another man. Aman was the matchmaker thus there was a pic of them hugging at her wedding which Naina mistook as a wedding pic.

I have known people that have been deeply in love with their spouses. Particularly a middle aged man. His wife died. His children were almost all settled. What was he suppose to do talk to the wall all alone in his old age? 5 years after her death. He started dating someone else. But people know till this day he is deeply in love with his wife. At his youngest child’s wedding he reserved a special seat for her and gave a toast in her honor.

Aman wanted Naina to move on. She to some degree did it for him. He knew he couldn’t leave Naina all alone after he died. She was a shy girl. She might have never found someone or come out of her shell if he didn’t help her. Or she might have been force fed someone who was completely wrong for her by her conservative Dadi. He knew she could never fall in love again after him. So he gave her the next best thing one can have in a hubby, which is a best friend. He wanted her to have companionship that was good for her and Rohit was it. Not mention Rohit truly loved Naina and would do anything in his hands to keep her happy.

You never see her fall for Rohit. You see her married to him. That happens with arranged marriages in india all the time, where the couple might truly never fall in love but learn how to make a marriage work.

As for ADHM, if Fawad’s character was dying and Anu’s character was a depressed girl in her shell who needed companionship it would have been a different story. There are people who are happier off independent if they can’t find someone they truly, deeply love. I feel you can’t compare the two characters because they were different people.
