Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey Remake has Finally found its Leading Heroine!

This year has been extremely special for Shahid Kapoor, as he delivered one of the biggest hits of his career with Kabir Singh- the Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy. The film starred Kiara Advani as the female lead and churned across Rs 250 crores at the box office. Moving ahead to another remake, Shahid has reportedly signed the Hindi remake of a South film, Jersey, which featured Nani and will soon begin filming. The original producers, Dil Raju, will be helming the Hindi remake as well.

A lot of names had come up for the female lead opposite Shahid but the makers failed to find a perfect fit. But, it looks like the hunt is finally over and the film Jersey remake has found its leading heroine!

The producers of the film have initiated talks with Dear Comrade actress Rashmika Mandanna to cast her alongside Shahid. "Shahid and the makers met and they were brainstorming on who could be cast as the heroine and they all thought of Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna who's a huge star already, “ reported Pinkvilla.

The report states that the actress has been offered the part already. "The producers were on the lookout for a fresh face and if Rashmika gives her nod, this will also mark her Hindi debut. She has watched Jersey and given how Kabir Singh has fared at the ticket windows, she has also expressed an interest in the Hindi remake. But the modalities and remunerations need to be finalized for now. The makers are planning to roll out the film by November this year,” quoted the entertainment portal.

Earlier, Rashmika was offered a film with Randeep Hooda but unfortunately, things did not fall in place. However, if the actress gives her nod for this Shahid Kapoor starrer, it will mark her debut in Bollywood as well. Besides, she is part of several Telugu films like Dear Comrade, Geetha Govindam, superstar Mahesh Babu's next Sarileru Neekevvaru and others.

Audience doesn't care for remakes. Just dub the original properly and release it at 5% the budget of the remake, it would save so much money.
