He looked up from the book he was reading and tilted his head slightly in mock amusement.
Her fingers clenched tightly around the hilt of the large wooden door as her gaze flickered towards the right corner of the four post bed where a woman in a skimpy red lacy nightgown was sprawled, almost wantonly.
"To what"
Her gaze shifted of its own volition to the man who was now picking his shirt off the floor and was soon approaching her as he slipped his hands into the sleeves.
"Do I owe the pleasure of your company, Mrs Ba...Basu?" He raised a bushy brow in query whilst his eyes drank her appearance.
Her chest was heaving wildly as if a monster had been chasing after her. Her sindoor was slightly smeared over her forehead and her dupatta had almost slipped off her shoulder revealing the low cut zari work blouse.
"We need to...talk" Prerna spoke, sense of urgency creeping up as she crumpled her lehenga between fingers of her left hand, dread seeping through her veins and reality sinking in.
'What had she done?!'
