Saaho plagiarism issue: Largo Winch director Jérôme Salle has a sarcastic take on this Prabhas-starrerGautham Pattikonda Aug 31, 2019 13:11 PM

After the first few shows of Saaho, viewers have expressed that the film seems to be very similar to 2008 release Largo Winch which was directed by Jérôme Salle. Fans believe that the overall theme of the film matches to Largo Winch and feel that it is a straight adaptation. And one fan tagged Jérôme Salle on Twitter and told him that his film is being most used in India. To this, Jérôme Salle had a sarcastic take on the plagiarism issue and it will make you wonder what is happening with filmmakers in India. "I think I have a promising career in India[sic]," Jerome replied to the tweet by a user. Looks like there is another controversy in the making. This is the second Telugu film to land in plagiarism issue after Pawan Kalyan-starrer Agnyathavaasi which also faced similar charges.
Pehle Hindi film directors Telugu filmein remake karte te. Ab Telugu filmmakers International cinema ki filmein remake karne lagge... Ab kahan gayi originality?
Shame on these people.... how can they steal work like this
Why doesn't he sue these makers. They stole his work twice now. Is he waiting for a hat trick here. 😆

Plagiarism is a better term... I'm sure makers will come up with inspiration crap like Jagga Jasoos...
Baap hiding varish wala plot toh Raja Maharaja ke time se chala aa raha hai be.
Unless Sahoo is scene by scene copy, faltu la nautanki.
As long as the public supports this and as long as the authorities of a country allow it. This will never stop and while it is hard to place ownership over ideas or creations, it is easy to tell when something is a copy of a published work, and that is morally wrong as well as illegal.
This practice in the long run, never helps an industry nor the economy of the offending country, it hurts the original creator, and it is offensive to the target audience.
Do Indian film makers value the public in India so little that they think, they are uneducated? do not travel abroad nor watch foreign material? Do they consider the people so ignorant that they are unworthy of original material?
I have strong views on giving credit where credit is due. How hard is it to collaborate? To work together, or to at least pay for the rights? Those who steal content, should be punished according to international law, and never be allowed to work or profit in countries that are affiliated to the International Trademark Agreement Association.

Yes of course.
