I'll be honest I do feel like Akshay chose twinkle for her family background. We're all familiar with the arranged marriage criteria. It's not just money, looks etc. People look at family background and prestige as well. She was dab smack in the middle of the inner circle of nepo kids. Karan Johar went to school with her and who knows who else. If Akshay ever lost his footing then she could have easily pushed her contacts to get him work. He made a very strategic decision marrying her.

I don’t think she used her contacts to help him otherwise he would of worked in well known banner. Akshay survived before his marriage to twinkle with his khiladi series and Casanova image, but definitely she might of pushed him to change his choice of films.

Twinkle wasn’t a great actress, but she quit too soon, with time she might of improved as an actress, she had the heroine look to prolong her career. Katrina Kaif an example of improved actress from being a bad one.
