If it were easy there wouldn’t be so much bad acting. All you need to do is watch 20 random low budget films and 20 random college student productions to see plenty of awful acting. On the other hand I’ve seen a production by a high school for the performing arts that was almost as good as a Broadway production - because those teens were very talented and well directed.

In real life sure there are people who are good at masking their feelings and people who are good at lying but I wouldn’t really call that acting. They are not creating a new persona, they are just tweaking their own. I suppose if someone could relax enough to authentically “play” essentially themselves on screen or on stage everyone could have one single blockbuster role in that and only that role - but even that ability (to relax and be natural) with hundreds of eyes on you is not so common.

difference is some people may do it well alone infront of a mirror but to do it in front of million people and a camera is not easy..you need to shed all inhibitations and be shameless as sonam says..

i personally feel i am a pro alone infront of the mirror but i would feel conscious if i have to go to the loo and there are 4 people watching me pass by..camera ke samne tou ill freeze..

I am pretty sure id's who are saying acting is hard are actors in disguise.

Having said that, acting is easy, it is one of the easiest professions in the world, especially once you lose inhibitions. Many people are too shy or embarrassed to act infront of people or camera, they are acutely aware of their presence.

It's not that easy unless you have an interest and inborn skill to do it. If you have interest, you can improve upon it. If inborn skill, it comes to you naturally.
