Ex-Pak High Commissioner Abdul Basit says he influenced Shobha De to write article on Kashmir.

Basit also said that he was impressed that Indians had so much freedom of speech.

De had written an article in 2016 asking for plebiscite in Kashmir and never once mentioned the Kashmiri Pandit genocide.

Here's Shobha De defending herself and uh, she's now a patriotic Indian. Patriotism not a dirty word anymore then, huh?

Hafiz Saeed had expressed his fondness for Barkha Dutt and NDTV in the past. Sagarika Ghose is known to fawn over the Pakistan PM.

Do we have a major problem with paid media in India?

They could be real POVs too. The other day someone accused me of spreading propaganda because my thoughts didn't align with the majority. How easy it is to accuse people and discredit their opinions? And then there are those who raised questions on the Cobrapost fiasco asking why the celebs were wrong at all? LOL Unless there's evidence of being paid, I don't think we should accuse people for their personal opinions.

You must take into account what Basit said. If one is waiting for signed receipts or something,...There's a thing called circumstantial evidence..

And have we already forgotten Nira Radia tapes and Barkha Dutt's role in that. All these prime time perception moulders are paid. That's why they get ample footage on tv. Most of the mainstream one's are lobbying for their masters. And there are different masters, heck there are different masters for different issues.

I suggest you look at it from a far off enough focal point like an independent observer, an outside in perspective. There was plenty of evidence for Radia/Tata/Dutt...what happened there? Forget about anyone being brought to book...the duo esp are more than thriving.

Why is there still doubts regarding these type of matters. Just trace the comments/articles of Burkha/Shoba De/Rajdeep etc, you can notice a pro-pakistan line that they take. Now, Shoba de says Basit is lying, that she did not write article (s) under his influence. Which makes it worse. She is by default a traitor/anti-national and toes the enermy propaganda willingly.

Corruption is deep-rooted in India.

Agreed there can be genuine POVs, but there is a pattern that has been observed for a long time before they were labeled anti-national. And for god's sake anti-national is not equivalent to intolerance, or anti-religion. Go research about it.

The Muftis, Abdullahs, Separatists, Dutt's, Sardesai's, De's, many (not all)Paki's, many (not all) in Congress Party, all are having a hard time digesting the fact that "Modi hai Toh Mumkin hai" is a finite possibility,

Many have been shouting about Pak ISI influence in Indian journalists since a decade, glad to see these people exposed now. These Anti National journalists get roasted by Indians on their Twitter and Facebook pages.

They have lost their propaganda power by a massive amount since the arrival of Social Media and Jio 4G launch
