I remember Sony taking a risk with KRPKAB too and standing by the PH as long as it could. That show was also quite different and it took a bit of time before becoming massively popular.
PB took less time to become popular and has maintained the same tone and style more or less. I really hope this experience encourages others to come up with good content.
I am sorry, but I kind of disagree with you. Krpkab was one of the most popular shows on Sony TV when it aired. It had a trp of 1.2 when it opened. And, even if the trp was low on TV, it always stood as the first show in online trps, beating Ekta Kapoor shows. It also has an IMDB rating of 95%, which no show has got till date. I am sure, no show would have been this popular. And we were the only fandom to bring back a show after it went offair. People signed petitions from all over the world, kept contacting Sony and obviously #DONTENDKRPKAB trended on Twitter with fans not eating for days( nearly a week). I could not contribute to the trend on Twitter, since I dont have an account, but I did sign a petition. Actors too gave in... All in all our show was popular since the day it aired and it did not take time. The confession episode of 14th June has too crossed 11 million views.
