Isn't it horrific to die in such a manner? I was reading about the journalist who leaked the Panama papers scandal and this occurred to me. The end of Dil Se was especially disturbing.

SRK's character knew that she won't change and he can't live without her
Dint like it.A beautiful movie with the most frustrating ending.I dunno why “Love” is shown in such a sadistic way in our movies.I’m sure they do it to generate a certain effect amongst the audience still m totally against it.Manisha cud have died for she was a terrorist and all but why did they have to show Shahrukh die.Such love stories are so frustrating..and den some guys see these movies and starts relating themselves to these situations..feeling arey marne ka matlab apka pyar pavitra hai n dusri duniya me milenge..what crap. They cud have easily shown Shahrukh lamenting Manisha’s death but after few years getting over that chapter n living happily with Priety.(Sorry for the rant)
I think both characters were too damaged to have that happy ending. I don't particularly 'like' it but it's a bittersweet and tragic ending warranted from a story like this. Its dark and disturbing because the story itself edges on those lines. Its a Romeo-Juliet-esque ending. There's also the shock factor that works wonderfully esp from Mani Ratnam cinematic vision. You never expect it and yet it happens.

Don't be sorry.
Amar's death was unfortunate. He had his entire family behind him, and a fiancee.

Yes, the tragic end does induce shock. It doesn't just end at a happy ending. Also, makes one think of so many things. I guess this is one reason the film has stayed in people's mind.
That was the theme of the movie. Amar was bound to die & satrangi re song pretty much hinted it.
The movie was based on 7 stages of love as per Sufi literature & Aman passes through each it.
Why is romanticising of death in love wrong? Ye har cheez mein issue kisliye? I heard somewhere that today's liberals are also actually conservatives. I guess it is true after all.

Cool sound karne ke liye kaha. Mujhe toh ishq mein marne waale behad haseen lagte hain.
I think you just want to discuss the Panama Papers because I just read something similar that your wrote in another topic. 😆And I agree the Bachchans and Ambanis and while we're at it Radia Tatas need to be investigated. India is the only country that took no action whatsoever on the Panama leaks and yet the PM is always flexing on his anti-corruption crusade....😆
Now the taxmen are after some poor kachori seller who happens to have a roaring business even though he lives in a virtual shanty while maha tax chor Gujarati billionaires roam around scotfree. Where's the gyaan about entrepreneurial spirit and pakodas? Why this discrimination against kachoris??
