Geez this is only a troll. Sushant, Sidharth, Varun were never ever approached for this film lol. Even Arjun was not really approached but his daddy the dearest made the producers agree to give him the role. But by then Shahid already agreed to sign for the film.
Well.. what values does Varun Dhawan have, his masala movies have stuff like that too. Honestly most bollywood movies have stuff like that so no idea why Shahid is being singled out. 😕Originally posted by: Anony-mouse

I have to disagree.😀
Shahid did outshine Vijay in all the ways. 🌈⭐🌟💫
While I agree that Telugu is regional language and it's collection would be small as compared to Hindi. But then there are people who watch Hindi movies despite not knowing Hindi, for example, my bestie and other close friends who are Telugu but don't understand Hindi that much. Similarly, when I watched Arjun Reddy, it was in Telugu with Subtitles. That's why I compared the collections of both the films.
If someone has to watch movie, language is not that much of a barrier now since we have subtitles.
Well that's your pov.
VD's personality was of another level and was apt for the character and he emoted very well if I have to compare both of them.
Shahid was very good in emoting aggressive scenes.
Every one has their own perspective. If you liked remake version I loved the original one.
Tbh, I really liked shahid's performance but VD nailed it and considering the fact that he had no reference to work on the character while Shahid had a reference.

True that!
Ppl are behaving as if vijay did nothing.
Ye movie remake bhi isliye hui q ki south mai itna superhit hua and Vijay ne aur baaki sb ne jabardast acting kiya.
Shahid ne vijay ko credit b ni diya
Maana usne acha perform kiya but usne vijay ko outshine Ni kiya
Original hmesha original hi rehta hai
People always overhype Regional stars here lol.....nobody cares lol i feel like its the intelligent thing to do to say regional movies/stars are better, im sure most people havent even seen Arjun Reddy

Lol if someone acts better they will be appreciated no matter what.
I don't understand the hypocrisy
If a regional movie or regional stars act better ppl can't accept it esp in north.and if someone frm Bollywood remak's south movies they'll go Gaga
Saw the movie yesterday. Movie is definitely amusing and even funny in parts. Shahid has acted really well in many scenes, almost carries the movie on his shoulders from beginning to end. Like somehow as an audience, I just wanted him to be on screen. I believe this is pretty much the reason movie is working despite being 3hr long and not offering much story wise. It is solely character driven, his obsession, his anger, his destruction and other characters are kind of just spectators or tools to this process.
Shahid manages to keep Kabir Singh stay in the grey shades and makes KS even likeable in many scenes even though it is very well established that he is an asshole and mildly psychotic in the beginning itself. He brings out his silly and funny side very convincingly from time to time. Most unconvincing part of the movie is actually the love story where I felt the chemistry was just non existent in the beginning, but even through this KS's obsession and controlling behavior is visible throughout. The last scene is really powerful though, even managing to evoke sympathy for the troubled couple.
SPOILER WARNING
Kiara's acting is mediocre at best, but she does her job, nothing great but could have been much better. It is Shahid who shines throughout the film. There isn't much glorification as I have been hearing, yes he manages to have decent life with the same girl but only after losing his reputation and career after months of suffering. I don't see this as glorification. The girl was somehow enjoying the domination from the famous smartass senior of the college, not really uncommon. I am no one to judge the personal dynamics between a couple and impose my idea of healthy relationship to two problematic individuals. Movie is silly but amusing.
