Seeing it today 😉

I have seen it. It was damn good. Mazedaar. Kabir Singh is hero of single screens. I showed up late and it was right before the football match. But she didnt show up yet so I dont think I missed anything. Also she had hardly any dialogues in first hour 😆 An what medical school allows all this. He just walks in like he owns the place. Some highlights include : The football match, Holi scene, Any scene with the dadi, The confrontation with the parents (where he says in old times he would wage war on her dad), The operation arc (im drunk now 🤣🤣). The story of him and the actress was un needed but she is hott so theres that. Shahid Kapoor career best. Kiara also shined bright. Tho she went missing. His friend and his brother were highlights as well. That Nikita girl The dadi. It was a bit long but not too much. All in all Id give it 8 out of 10 on the Maroon scale.

Kabir Singh had an outstanding first week of over 133 crore nett and it is the third highest non holiday first week of all time after Bahubali - The Conclusion and Sanju. It is second to Bharat for 2019 which grossed 168 crore nett in first week but had the Eid period in its first week.

Kabir Singh has crossed the lifetime footfalls of Bharat at the some national chains like Inox and Cinepolis. It is less on all India level but at these big chains there is a huge pricing difference which has meant less collections despite more footfalls.

The first noticeable fall came on Thursday but this could be because of the India cricket match which could have hit the film by around 5%. The film fell by around 15% on Thursday while the other weekdays say minimal drops of around 5%. Kabir Singh is a BLOCKBUSTER film and the second Friday business will tell if it emerges the biggest HIT of the year. The business of Kabir Singh till date is as follows.

Any idea about the budget of the movie, Thugji?

There is no official information available about the budget of the film. However, the estimated budget of Kabir Singh is around 60 crores including the promotion and advertising cost. The original film Arjun Reddy was made in just 5 crores and it earned 51 crores worldwide. It was one of the biggest Telugu hits of 2017.

Film trade analysts now believe that there is a strong possibility of Kabir Singh to emerge as the highest grossing film of 2019, surpassing Uri’s lifetime business.

Running in over 3100 screens, Kabir Singh is witnessing a strong run in Tier II and III markets, which was unexpected from the film as it was considered to be more urban-centric.

The romantic drama is even seeing a repeat audience, which is further helping Kabir Singh trend even during weekdays. The film's footfall wasn't impaired after the weekend and daily revenue remained in the range of Rs 16-17 crore. Hence, the film is expected to earn over Rs 130 crore in its opening week.

The first two quarters of 2019 have emerged as big money churners, with the opening three months of the year getting as much as Rs 1,000 crore, a feat not achieved in the last few years.

While 2018 came close to the record with the first quarter total of Rs 914 crore, the previous two years fell short by a big margin. In 2017, Bollywood could gather Rs 650 crore and 2016 was even lower at Rs 550 crore.

So KS has already made double of its investment and there seems to be no stopping yet.

Haven't watched Arjun Reddy... but if it has raked 51 crores for a meager budget of 5 crores, then the return on investment is more than 9 times the actual cost... A feat that is usually difficult to accomplish!!!
