I loved Deepika as Piku..
I generally dislike Deepika and at that time seriously disliked her but there is no other actress I think would've played a better Piku. She was Piku and I loved every second of it.
Kangana, Rani or Konkona Sen..
Even Anushka or Sonam would have done a better job than Deepika.
I CANT 🤣

My fav Deepika movie. She was incredibly good in it and looked gorgeous. Gotta watch it now ...
Man.. those big eyes 😍
Do have that gif where she puts on those gold earrings while looking at the mirror. I don't know how to post stuff here but man, my heart skipped several beats when that scene happened. She looked so quintessentially bong in that movie. So pretty.

Unfortunately I also watched the movie much later than it's release so it was mega hyped up. While watching it I was thinking "this isn't living upto my expectations". But by the end of it, I did appreciate her performance.
For me, Deepika was better in Tamasha that year. Who else could've pulled off the role? Apparently Parineeti Chopra was offered the film, I think she would've done justice to it. Vidya Balan also would've done well. Maybe even Sonakshi Sinha. But Sonam Kapoor - no chance!
Anyhow, Deepika's portrayal has become so iconic that it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role. And whoever criticised her performance for her character not being "likeable" is completely missing the point.
Aaah. I watched this on the big screen and my eyes were blessed!💛
I had the unfortunate luck of watching this on the big screen. It catapulted DP as a leading lady in BW then but i think anyone else who had done and walked away with great accolades cos the role is such.

Sorry I was watching the movie . I have watched it so many times that I know every scene and every dialogue. She has amazing chemistry with anyone she works with. Be it her chemistry as a daughter with Amitabh or with Irfan.
@hermione thank you for posting the gif.
Nobody could have done the role better than Deepika. She is amazing in it and otherwise “eazzy lagta hain” 😂
