De De Pyaar De Has Decent Second Friday

De De Pyaar De had a decent hold on Friday as it collected in the 3-3.25 crore nett range but it should have done a little better as the collections of all films were down on Thursday as the results of the elections came so it could have recovered on Thursday. But that has not happened as it lost screen space due to 3 new releases. The eight day total is 60 crore nett apprx.

The drop from day one is just a little over 60% which is good but that is mainly because day one was not good. The second Friday number should have confirmed its HIT status but it still has work to do. The problem for the film is that it has not been like in the Hindi belt much so is basically remaining a 10-12 city film. The appreciation in places like CP Berar and CI is less than Luka Chuppi and if they film does not emerge a HIT in the final run it will be because of this.

There should be big growth on Saturday as city multiplexes pick up but it remains to be seen how much growth it can have. if it can double up it could be on back on track to be a HIT. The collections of De De Pyaar De till date are as follows.

DDPD might soon be Devgn’s second 100-crore film in 2019

Ajay Devgn-starrer De De Pyaar De (DDPD) started on a slow note but picked up pace at the box office as a result of positive word-of-mouth. The film has been going strong at the box office since its first weekend when it churned out Rs 38.54 crore. Even the weekdays did not down the film's business; DDPD was quite stable during the week thereby taking its first week collections to Rs 61.05 crore.

Looking at the daily collections of the first week and the second Friday numbers (Rs 3.58 crore), the rom-com seems to be all set to touch the Rs 100-crore mark post its third weekend. If so, this will be the second film of Devgn getting into the 100-crore club in the first half of 2019 itself, after Total Dhamaal. DDPD is directed by first-time director Akiv Ali and it stars Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh as female leads opposite Devgn.

De De Pyaar De Holds Well On Second Monday

De De Pyaar De held well on its second Monday collecting 2.50 crore nett which is just 20% down from Friday and just 55% down from last Monday. The film did not see huge growth over the weekend but is set to do well over the weekdays and is probably looking at a second week of 22 crore nett.

De De Pyaar De has grossed almost 73 crore nett till date and the two week business of the film will be close to 80 crore nett but the film will probably be a SEMI HIT as Bharat will cut its run short next Wednesday and keep it in th 90 crore or if it gets some screens post Bharat then could edge past the 90 crore nett mark.

The film has so far grossed around 24.50 crore nett in Mumbai and the Delhi / UP total is 18 crore nett apprx. The collections of De De Pyaar De till date are as follows.

Watched it yesterday. Wouldn't recommend it. It's funny in parts and I didn't find the age jokes very funny. I felt Ajay and Rakul's pair was very forced. Itni chemistry toh bohot logo mein ho jati hai and Ajay ko 50 saal mein aur log nahi mile aise? First half mein problematic lag rahi thi, last tak aate aate thodi progressive ho gayi but mainly because (SPOILERS) Tabu didn't have a problem with them. I liked that bit. As usual, Tabu was splendid, Ajay and Rakul were average. Cringey dialogues. Good family moments. Fairly missable.

De De Pyaar De Box Office: The Ajay Devgn starrer staying on to be rock solid during the weekdays. The film is collecting very well with hardly any competition around it and that reflected in Tuesday collections of 1.36 crores. On Monday the film stood at 1.42 crores so this is hardly any drop.

The Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu starrer has collected 95.86 crores already and with this kind of momentum so far, it won’t be surprising if 1 crore mark is hit today as well. The film would gain from Eid holiday advantage today, though the shows have been reduced due to arrival of Salman Khan’s Bharat.

De De Pyaar De Box Office: Enjoys Yet Another Rock Solid Day

That said, the good news is that the film is getting its due and though at one point in time the century mark had seemed difficult, now it would get there rather comfortably. It is expected that the 100 Crore Club mark would be reached by end of coming weekend, which would be a good result for the film.

In fact it won’t be surprising if eventually it manages to come close to the 105 crores lifetime as well. Nonetheless, it is now yet another Hit for producer Luv Ranjan which translates into good news for all involved.
