It is not about body shaming really. I feel like men generally can get away with some extra fat compared to women. It doesn't decrease their attractiveness as much.

Women are also more judged for their looks than men, who are more valued for their social status usually.

Tbh in real life it’s the other way round, if a guy has even a bit of belly, no girl would ever try to go out with him but a chubby girl is seen as someone curvy and get a lot of guys ready to be with her

This is true for dating ..

When it comes to marriage ( especially arranged marriage ), the guy's money and societal status is more important.. If he is good looking , that's an added bonus ..
