Madhuri has her own aura, however, Sri is above every comparison. Indian Film Industry hasn’t anything so versatile and flawless and audience captivating actress before. There was an interview from Vidya Balaan where she talks about how the directors used to be confused about shooting Sri in dance scenes, if her upper body was captured in the camera, directors would feel that she’s expressing through her legs and that the legs were left out, and vice versa while shooting her legs only. That is what is called screen presence and acting.

Sri is unmatched. Madhuri is good but very much over-hyped. Tabu is at same level as Sri and Vidya can come close to both. None else. But both Tabu and Vidya dont have that mass appeal and did not reign over the hearts of millions that Sri did, Sri does !! :)

I grew up watching Madhuri not Sridevi. How is this a fair comparison for my generation who only knows of Sridevi for one or two movies.

Well I am surprised that after watching 1 or 2 movies of Sri, you didn't feel compelled to dig further. Apart from her prominent Hindi movies i.e. Mr.India, Chaalbaaz, Chandni, Lamhe, Judai, Laadla, Gumraah etc., I was forced to watch Nagina, Khuda Gawah, Auhlaad, Roop ki raani choro ka raaja type movies which are not my genre. 😳 And then I had to go through her south India movies with subtitles and ended up liking those more than any of her Hindi movies 😈.

P.S. - Sadma deserves a special mention and I watched both original (Moondram Pirai) and dubbed version in Hindi and I dont know which one to choose because despite the dubbing, there's no Hindi movie like Sadma. 💔

Yes madhuri stayed for quite sometime after Sridevi left, but to say that she was irrelevant for a certain generation is pushing it, I don’t get why people don’t watch movies that are not from their time, because I do, I have watched movies like mr India so many times. Plus in the past 2-3 years Sridevi started working again, her comeback was far better than Madhuri’s.

Personally, I love Sridevi the actress and performer. I loved her from the first movie I watched of hers. But her when I came to know about her off screen, it put me off her. But still I love her on screen. Madhuri is good too for entertainment which her movies give. But overall, I love Sridevi.

Sri’s one film in South itself is miles ahead than whatever Madz did in her entire career. Fact will remain that’s Sri will always be the better actress. Bigger superstar, again Sri had pan Indian appeal and was successful across all major film industries like BW, KW, TW, MW and SW. Madz was popular in the north and so was she in South BUT she was not that popular in South as compared to Sri in North. Sri was equally worshipped in all film industries, so had better reach and appeal. Hence more popularity. Madz only winning tool is her dancing skills and that’s the only thing she scores better than Sri.
