Part 16 – Turf Wars!
As the plane came to a standstill, the exit was pulled open and GK descended the stairs, followed by Vikram.
6 men armed with AK-47 stood on each side and they bowed in respect, as GK stepped past them.
Nodding her head in recognition, she tucked her loose strands behind her ear and adjusted sunglasses on her nose.
“Shall we hit the road?” GK asked as she approached the Jaguar flanked by range rovers.
“And openly initiate Turf wars?!” Vikram exclaimed and signalled towards the sky as GK looked up to see a helicopter preparing for landing.
“And you call it safe!” She asked amused.
“With you on board…definitely!” Vikram smiled as he strode towards the helicopter.
Confused, GK followed after him only for her jaw to drop open in awe.
“It’s Raptor VR865 Relentless, is it not?! This characteristic contra rotating co-axial rotor system and the advanced FLIR and Thermal imaging system….” GK exclaimed with a childlike curiosity as she entered the cockpit and caressed the multitude of machines and keys.

Vikram chuckled. Thank god! She had dropped that nonchalant façade. The entire ride in the aircraft, she had been so stiff, he was sure that he had lost the companionship they had gradually developed over the years.
“When did you…launch it?” GK asked with stars gleaming in her eyes.
“Last June…had to deliver the consignment to Russian army”, He replied.
“This one’s got a fine body though!” GK murmured.
“Why don’t you hop on and have a first-hand taste of its performance?!” Vikram suggested.
“Then why don’t you take the reins?!” GK smirked and jumped in the copter.
“Let’s get soaring then!” Vikram shouted as the guards shut the door and soon the raptor was roaring in the sky with Vikram taking the controls in cockpit.
“I missed this feeling!” GK almost sighed.
However as she blinked her eyes open, she spotted a red laser dot focussing right behind Vikram’s seat.
“Tilt the raptor to 30 Degree east if you don’t intend for your neck to snap in two,Cap’n!” GK shouted as she rolled up the sleeves of her green shirt.
“It’s starting!” Vikram smirked amused as he held onto his seat whilst tilting the raptor to his side and a rocket whizzed right past the raptor, on GK’s side.
“That’s your idea of safety, Vikram!” GK rolled her eyes as she flipped open a pocket mirror and pushing raptor’s door open, extended the face of mirror towards the direction where rocket came from.
“Yeah I am safe, as long as the famous “Hitman” is here with me!” He chuckled.
“That’s exaggeration!” GK rolled her eyes as she succeeded in pinpointing the rough source from where the rocket came.
“Then shall I refresh your memory! You must recall That incident at Java three years back, where one woman single handedly wiped the floor with the local mafia…”
“48 degree south! Dive!” GK shouted interrupting him as Vikram pushed the controls forward, while another rocket whizzed right past.
“Close call!” He sighed.
“Why aren’t you shooting?! Engage the artillery!” GK asked exasperated.
“Fine then!” And with that announcement, he pushed the blue button as GK turned around to see her vacant seat shift vertically and reveal M-54 long range artillery gun.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. “That’s’…27 km, 155 mm calibre…..”
“Yes,that’s the prototype you designed two years back! Now take those buggers down!”
GK let out an hefty impatient sigh as she pulled the gun and after adjusting it at the door, laid down on her stomach and placed her fingers on the trigger.

“You know right that you are batshit crazy!”
“Finally,we are dropping the frivolous formalities!” He chuckled as he maneuvered the raptor around and approached the direction from where rockets were being launched.
“I see them”, she smiled feeling the adrenaline rush and took the aim.
And soon the opposite shack went up inflames before the raptor nosedived suddenly as a flurry of bullets whizzed past them.
“We have guests!” Vikram chuckled feeling exhilarated. This was the respite he seek from monotonous business and army dealings. This kick was his calling!
“Then let’s teach them that trespassing GK’s turf never bodes well”, And with that GK took the aim.
“This never gets old! You are worthy of your name, Prez of Guns&Kills!”
“Excel at what you pursue is my motto”, GK replied as she took out her pistol and aimed it at a man standing right behind the glass window in opposite high rise.
“That’s brutal! Do your bahus know of your feats like these?” Vikram exclaimed as the bullet pierced man’s head.
“This is the law of food chain- eat or get eaten, there is no third option. And don’t involve them in this mess!” With that announcement,GK barely rolled behind the raptor’s door as a bullet flew right past.
“We’ve got a sniper joining the fray!” Vikram warned GK as she spotted one on the roof of a high rise, three across from hers.
“Take me right over him!”
“He’ll shoot us down!” Vikram retorted.
“I’ll put a full stop to his life before that. Just do it!” And Pushing the artillery aside, GK took the rope from the opposite end of raptor and jumped out of it.
Hanging from the rope, she fished out her dagger and threw it right at him before his fingers could find the trigger. The dagger went straight and stabbed him right in the neck, as he dropped dead on his back.
GK let go of the rope and jumped behind once sniper-now-a-corpse man.
“It’s a bloody mess…” Vikram sighed as he managed to land the raptor and inspected his surroundings.
“That’s how it is. If I want to continue to remain in power, I’ll have to suppress any uprising, any competition who’ll dare threaten my empire. I’ll do what it takes to keep on the right side. And I wasn’t the one who suggested this competition of turf wars to establish the hierarchy. They all knew of the risk and rules before participating. They were aiming for the crown without knowing that the throne is full of thorns. It took lot of efforts to go legal from illegal. I won’t ever let it go to ruin….never ever!” GK whispered as she crouched near the dead body and pulled her dagger out.
“And I’ll have twice the paper work to deal with!” Vikram whined.
“Don’t worry…Prince Mohammed is your fan”, She patted his shoulder almost apologetically and looked around.
This was the abandoned city of Empiria where scheduled legal turf wars take place, with his majesty’s Prince Mohammed’s legal stamp. She was thankful though. 5 Years back when she had started off her company;every day was a battle with the other jilted people in same line of work, trying to eliminate emerging competition. Her background didn’t help either. It was when Vikram, a close confidante of Prince, proposed the Concept of turf battles and Prince agreed to keep his land peaceful and also to make sure that the businessman who were investing their money in his country did not feel neglected. This was how Treaty of Peace& Battle was passed among 48 companies dealing with weapons. Every month, a turf war would take place where participation was mandatory and the winner was handed a consignment for delivery of weapons to governmental organizations all over the world, directly under Prince’s command ensuring that their consignment was not jeopardized by other competitors out of spite. And 12 months and 12 consecutive wins later, her organization Guns& Kills had managed to grab the best clientele and contacts, establish necessary connections and forced the contracting organizations to pass a clause debarring her organization’s participation in the turf wars. After that business boomed and everything was fine, until someone pulled an ambush on her and sent her packing to India.
“No wonder, they think I’ve gotten rusty and lost my touch!”
“I think they’ve learnt their lesson well and will make sure to highlight that clause all over again”, Vikram winked, impressed.
“But you participated! You are supposed to be neutral!”GK growled troubled.
“I was just….driving…” Vikram trailed nonchalantly as GK shook her head at his annoying behaviour.
“You are a warmonger and Pops had the misunderstanding that you’re peaceful!” GK mocked.
“C’mon…I just make choppers!”
“Military battle equipped choppers!” GK rolled her eyes.
Vikram chuckled at her insinuations. As his phone vibrated, he picked it up to see ‘Majesty’ flashing across.
“Aah!News travels fast! Prince has asked for a meeting with the ‘Hitman’”.
“Then Let’s go and pay regards to His majesty”, GK suggested as the duo jumped back in the chopped yet again….
How was it?!
So first of all, there were no Guddan Akshat scenes in here because this is Dubai and GK has a life established here.So I’m gonna do a li’l bit exploring on GK’s part so don’t blame me for lack of romance and such😆. This story is a notch more about GK then Guddan.
Secondly, I absolutely don’t know how to write fight scenes so pardon my lack of skills on that part. Terminology in itself is absolutely nightmarish!
Thirdly, GK’s line of work is almost clear now, I guess. She is a gun manufacturer and delivers consignments to various governmental organizations Whereas Vikram’s organization is concerned with military vehicle manufacture. And regarding the killings GK participated in,I’ve explained to my best that her line of work requires it and this is by noway “Murder”. GK is not some messed up don or mafia who kills without purpose but she just participates to keep alive and I’ll further clear her background later. And the names used here have no relation to reality! By coincidence, if there is any, then feel free to overlook it. I’ve tweaked names and bits from here and there though!
Rest, I hope you’ll enjoy! It took me hel a lot a time to write this one!
