Student Of The Year 2 had decent first day as it grossed in the 11-12 crore nett range. The film will cross the 11 crore nett mark and may even go to 12 crore nett depending on where the collections land in the mass circuits. Its a solid number for the costs of the film but has no comparison to what the last Tiger Shroff film did on the opening day.

Tiger Shroff films normally outperform in the likes of CP Berar, Assam, Odisha, Nizma / Andhra due to the action and although this film is in a slightly different zone but still the figures at these places could be better than expected. On the other side some places of these areas could be affected by Ramadan especially Nizam / Andhra.

The collections did slow a little in the evening due to the IPL match at the big multiplexes and this happened on Tuesday as well but the affect will be just 5% and the film can make it up on Saturday. The film will need to show an uptrend on Saturday and multiplexes could show a jump in business.

SO what's happened with all the 21 cr + predictions then?😆Wasn't this supposed to be over 20 cr?

And oh the excuses from BOI:

Wait who the hell in their right mind thought SOTY2 would open at 20+ crore?!

Phenomenal got it bang on his prediction. I overestimated with 15 crores. The mass centres didn't come fully through. Now one could spin it with ramadaan, IPL or the endgame wave, at the end of the day it is what it is. Nonetheless, solid first-day numbers and now let's see how it plays out over its lifetime.
