You do know that RS was offered Shuddhi when HR walked out of it and kjo scrapped the HR-Bebo in Shuddhi. He chose to do BM with SLB. There is no compulsion for him to say yes to SLB. SLB is not his Kjo nor is SLB his mentor. RS's mentor is Adi and YRF projects are where he has nothing to do but accept the movies.

Salman and Varun's names came much later.. on his radio show Kjo himself confirmed he was miffed with RS when he rejected one of his scripts and made up with him only when RS came to 2 states screening. Kjo being miffed with RS was all over the news back then.

Back then SLB did not have a hundered percent hit record. He was a hit and miss director box officewise. He gave hits Devdas, HDDCS and flops Saawariya, Guzaarish.
