I think she's just a bystander or a doormat who doesn't have a say in anything. She's not supposed to say anything even if she knows it's wrong since the husband is also not ready to listen to her. But, I guess if she gets someone's support she will be able to stand up for herself.

What if Chitra's soul gets into her body? It would be great to see the ever so innocent S-I-L putting some sense to all her dominating and shrewd in-laws and not sparing her husband as well.
