well almost all the historical have been commercialized, so I don't get the criticism about that though.
Anarkali obviously never performed on Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kiya, nor Ashoka had a chic running around him singing Sansana San Sananana Nan, Jodha and Akbar obviously never had singing Jashne Bahara or Laxmi Bai dancing around, and obviously the less said about SLB the better.

San sana ka pata nahi but Kaurvaki existed in history. It was devi (hrishita bhatt) that historians contested to have never exist in history.

That is the point.
As actually neither Anarkali nor Jodha existed, while Queen Padmini(Padmavati)'s existence is also doubtful.
