This article was published now but he was speaking about Takht on Starry Nights in December (the interview has been taken from it) and he had started pre-production since then so yeah it's almost a year before the shoot starts in September.

I think Kalank doesn't have anything to do with Takht. Kalank's story is average at best while Takht's story has huge potential, if executed well. Also, Kalank won't flop lol Himesh has predicted a 25 cr opening for it.

Pray tell how he's gonna handle the Mughal age when he can't even do the more recent and well documented partition era right. The rest comes secondary. He couldn't even get the look right. Lol I think you didn't read how Karan ghost directed this. Everything was done by Karan's permission. If he's given the freedom to do Takht, he can do better than Karan that's for sure. And this is just his 2nd film.

Also, I think it's the whole team of technicians who are at fault for this weird portrayal of the 1940s. Even Richard Attenborough, a foreigner, had nailed the 40s look in Gandhi.

I don't know why you haven't realized by now that Kalank is a period film just in name. 😆 It's a commercial film with big sets and dance numbers to attract audiences. I could spot so many errors when it comes to that period from the teaser itself.
