What happened to the Obros??

So, the whole reason I fell in love with this show at the very beginning was because of the Obros. I absolutely love them. Their love is just delightful! I remember getting so excited when I first saw the promo on Star plus. "Ek doosre ke zaroori hisse, ek kahaani ke teen kisse"

And then Anika came along to just seal the deal. The show was magic for a while. The characters, the relationships. The great Wall of Shivaay Singh Oberoi, Eccentric Rudy and Intense Om. I loved seeing them together.

Something I would have loved to see on the show would have been how the Obros became the Obros. How little Shiv, Om and Ru came together and stayed together in the midst of the madness that was their family. How they grew up. Not an extremely long track, but a handful of episodes to show that would have been nice do you think? Am I the only one who thinks so?

The burgeoning relationship between Shivaay and Anika, the small glimpses we got to see of Anika with her future devars. It was beautifull. Dadi was amazing. Sahil was adorable and the dysfunctional senior Oberois were nuts but not evil. Like, messed up characters with so much potential for both good and bad. So much room to explore.

I remember thinking while watching one scene, it's going to be so amazing to watch Om fall in love. I've always had a soft spot for him.. He doesn't do anything in halfs and Kunal did such an amazing job portraying all that emotional depth and intensity Om had within him. Honestly, I think Om's love story was very badly handled. It could have been so much better.

And I don't exactly know what the word is on the street, but personally, I really didn't like the DBO spin-off. Some characters completely disappeared from the shows! Om was hardly ever in IB and Shivaay in DBO. They lived in the same house but the stuff that was going on was vastly different. I was delirious when they brought the shows back together. Honestly, the Crux of the show was the brothers right? So making two shows where they hardly ever interact just didn't sit well with me.

I stopped following the show when Redux began. Haven't payed more than a passing glance since then. I know the gist of it though. Kind of at least. Here and there. Anyway, the point of this post was not to rant about my dissatisfaction at how this show was carried out but to actually ask a question.

What the hell happened to OmRu in this Dhinchaak thing. Where are they? And Gauri and Bhavya? Why aren't they still with Dadi and Shivaay's son? What happened to them? Cus if they aren't dead or something equally drastic, I don't see why they wouldn't move heaven and earth to raise and love their Shivaay's son. What's the story behind their absence? I really want to know.

We've got to talk to Harneet about all your questions? 😆 . but I will try to answer them.

Regarding Dib
They answered your question a week before the series ended. Omru and their wives were devastated about Shivika s death so they settled in London leaving their 8 year old son and his baby sister to be looked after by grandmothers who might have been in their 90s .
They did not return when Oms daughter was going through her marriage crisis.

They did show at the start of Vanvas a little bit of shivay and Rudy but that was that. Unfortunately the writer doesn't know how to finish of her arcs. She starts on a good note but either forgets what's she written or moves on to the next track in a day or two.

You should read Rimis Bermuda Triangle thread. About tracks starting and then they fizzle out in a day .

And it's all thanks to the writer.

I will try and find this for you. Not break your head over this. As there's no answer to any thing you may ask 😆

Oh my God yes! It's pathetic how much potential the writers just wasted! The writers really should have just rewatched their show once in a while because they seem to just forget important plot points.

This is actually a problem I have with a lot of Gul Khan's shows. They start out so well with frickin amazing characters and it's fantastic for a while but then after a point, it goes from good to bad and bad to worse. I remember Qubool Hai was like that.

😡

Pathetic. Ridiculous. Like, what the hell??? I'm speechless. At least think up some believable excuses?? I get that it's a business at the end but they could at least try to do justice to the story and the characters na.

Agreed. It would have been better for all three brothers (and Annika) to have been killed off in one fell swoop. It would have made the child abandonment easier to believe.
