Hello everyone,
I hate how every single character in this show is written, maybe perhaps Komolika. Komolika is a villain and although I would love for her to have some method to her madness, I am never ever going to get it. So for me, Komolika won't ever be more than just your surface level villain.
However, I want to talk about Anurag, Prerna and the Basu women. These 4 are the ones we see the most so it makes sense that the audience want to hear and see something interesting from them. I mean I see plenty interesting in terms of clothing jewelry and makeup, however, they don't ever tend to coincide with the mood or theme of the particular plot. The only time I've ever seen Mohini and Nivi not adorned is when they're wearing "pajamas aka silk night gowns. But whatever I can overlook that too. But I want to talk about the potential of these two women. Just because you're from a high class does not mean you HAVE to look down on people who do not have as much wealth as you. That's a boring and an over done cliche to say the least. Maybe one of them could have been tugging the line of understanding the plight of working class folks but having so much money it's difficult to break away from that stereotype. In case of Nivi, I want her to be a businesswoman like she was saying she was in the beginning. When she was upset that her dad gave Anurag the project, I thought we were finally going to see another side of her, another aspect that doesn't revolve around her being obsessed with her brothers love life. Honestly it's a little creepy if you ask me. I appreciate that we know about WHY Mohini loves Anurag so much but the fact that she blatantly plays favoritism every chance she gets? Gross. I know a lot of south Asians prefer boys over girls but COME ON. What year are we on?

Anurag. Ohhh Anurag. What did we think and what did we get? Actually a complete butchering of his character came during the Naveen Prerna sequence. I honestly hated that he was borderline harassing Prerna about not marrying Naveen (I get it, best intentions and whatnot) but going to her house, breaking into her room, and being somewhat physical with her? He doesn't have the right to do that. Thennn, he has the nerve to sleep with Prerna, promise her of marriage, and then turn around and marry Komolika? How many times did he tell Prerna to just TELL him why she was marrying Naveen, that he'll be there for her no matter what???? And then he thinks Prerna doesn't deserve the same?? To make matters worse he insults her in front of everyone??? I can't even express my anger. To be honest, until he shows that he really understands the impact, not intention, of his actions then I don't want anything to do with him. He was such a sweet guy, so full of love and respect but then now all I see is a weak guy who can't communicate with the love of his life about ONE thing that's bothering him. If this had happened before his confession with Prerna, maybe I would have understood. But these two were together through both of their dads being hospitalized, Anurag literally fought to near death for Prerna and then that whole build up is erased just so the writers can bring Komolika into Anurag's life? Even if the wedding needed to happen, there are a hundred different ways they could have taken that route. For example, if Mohini was the one that was hospitalized instead of Moloy and she had written a letter or something about marrying Komolika instead of Moloy being used as the plot device. Or your typical, Prernas life and her families life is in danger if Anurag doesn't marry Komolika.. and if Anurag says anything she'll go after his family. I don't know something that doesn't have as easy of a resolution as getting house papers from Komolika. Whatever the case may be, I can't stand men who can't communicate, it just further perpetuates the idea that it has to be on the women to understand everything they're saying without actually saying it.
Last but not least, Prerna. Prerna, what the hell is goig on with this new avatar? Although I don't COMPLETELY hate it, I don't understand it. On one hand, she is most likely doing this so her kid has his fathers name. On the other hand, she may have another trick up her sleeve, maybe to give Anurag the taste of his own medicine. Although I would love the second option, I can't help but think WHEN WILL IT STOP? what's going to happen between them that things will go back to being a sweet lovestory instead of this constant heartbreak back and forth??? When will the audience see Prerna have an identity that's not based around Anurag, the same guy who insulted her and humiliated her? Why does Prerna have to be pregnant in this scenario? Why can't women just have sex without bearing any kind of consequence? Speaking of sex, Prerna clearly said "this is wrong and instead of talking about it Anurag's like dude no we're in love it's not wrong??? I'm guessing it was Prernas first time so why not talk about it, talk about the lack of contraception btw, and talk about taking it to the next step instead of just going for it???? I get it, emotions were high, they just confessed, whatever. But if it had to lead to sex, why not be a positive thing instead of Prerna needing to be pregnant. If they didn't have any contraception, why not just wait until they do? Also there was no NEED for sex in that scene, they could have done without it. The two weren't officially together for 2 hours before they had sex, that's just unrealistic. Sorry coming back to Prerna, I wanted Prerna to leave whatever the situation is at hand and mold her own direction.. but instead we see her playing lame games about her deserving rights which doesn't even have any basis. The hell you mean you're married because you exchanged some dhaga? She's delusional and just because a pandit corroborates her story doesn't mean it's any better. It's still illogical.
Coming back to the main point: THERE ARE SO MANY PLOTHOLES AND INCONSISTENCY IN CHARACTERS. Make it simple, make it about one thing at a time, finish a plot, tie the loose ends and then move on.
I want new writers, someone who knows how to write characters, give them depth and scope, and include an ensemble cast to its full potential. This show is just regurgitated crap at this point, and no one is buying it.

PS.. yes I'm stil gonna watch it. Just wanted to give my two cents.
