so according to you, narrative of the movies should be changed because it might not please some internet feminists.
You're saying as if the narrative was that Vaidehi didn't knew him and it was the first time she met her, and still pardon him because of his abuse, because girls generally love abusive people.
That wasn't the narrative of the movie.Narrative was why he did that, and why she responded that way.And she all know it is the guilt factor, Vaidehi was a feminist, but she also knew she had hurt many people including Badri, and had to think sensibly.Because Badri was not some sadak chap gunda, she was someone whose life has been destroyed by Vaidehi.
And that gay scene is just what the mentality of Badri is, he isn't some refined intellectual, he is still UP ka launda where he sees that dowry is normal, men work and women stay at home.
According to me nothing justify violence. Yes Vaidehi made mistakes but none of those justify Badri trying to kidnap her and grab her in a choke hold. It was a pathetic way for Shashank to show Vaidehi's so called guilt. Vaidehi wouldn't have had to resort to running away from her wedding if Badri wasn't a stalker who refused to take no for an answer and emotionally manipulated her by dangling her sister's wedding as a bargaining chip.
Badri wasn't the only who laughed at the gay attack scene. The educated Vaidehi and her roommate did too.
People enjoy the movie and that's their prerogative. But it was a movie that had a lot of flaws and problematic social messages.
