Wow! Did I catch my name out there? ! Thanks and yes, I remember . 😆
The story took us through some pretty testing times. 🤢 I almost gave up on this show for a week or so because of teenager Mauli . 😆
Thankfully , Mauli becoming a teen was not about her hormones. It was about her confusion. Looking back, I must say Gajra did her journey pretty well, taking her back to a Kunal she had loved and could never hate. She was confused . Why couldn't she hate the guy? Did that mean she loved him? That was her constant fear. Every time her mind brought up Kunal she was ashamed and fearful. Was she slipping? Was she falling in love again? She struggled with her feelings a lot and it pained her that she was hurting Ishaan in the process..
Ishaan was such a gem. He understood she was torn between the two of them. Mauli's anxiety projected Kunal to him and he thought that was what her heart wanted and he let hee go. Such a beautiful, mature love story.
In the end, Mauli realised she didn't have to hate Kunal to love Ishaan. She could still respect him as a friend and love Ishaan.
Two weeks back, I watched a movie where the female lead was caught in a triangle. Here, her first love had sacrificed his love for her so she wouldn't be caught in a fake scandal. He was blackmailed into leaving her by a woman who was after him.
The second guy had already given her up, knowing who she loved and supported her during the fallout. Eventually she grew close to him. Then came a time when it was revealed to her what the first guy had done for her and he was free to come back to her. She was in a dilemma. She owed then both, loved them both. Then her mom gave her an advice to not choose who loved her( both did) but to choose whom she wanted to make happy. She chose the second guy.
After seeing this movie, I was even more confident about Mauhaan. When Mauli was confused about her feelings for two guys, despite one having cheated her, whom would she choose? It had to be Ishaan, not because she wanted to show Kunal she had moved on. It had to be Ishaan, because Mauli had forgiven Kunal and the pain he inflicted on her would never cast a shadow on her love for Ishaan. In the end, Kunal was well and truly sorry, but I still don't pity him because he lived for Nandini and Pari. It was an illfated love that had ruined someone else's love- just had to be so.
Well done, Gajra!
