I guess people say it as a joke that Karan wants to ape Bhansali. I guess you can't just want to copy one Filmmaker cos that can go completely wrong. Historicals are mounted on huge budgets and you can't take risks. Karan is really intelligent in his choices so I'm sure Takht will be a stellar affair.

Ranveer has rejected two Dharma scripts before Takht. KJO really wanted Ranveer in this one and he confessed how he was shaking and his eyes were red as he gave Ranveer the first narration even before he discussed the script with his personal or filmy family.

Ranveer was quoted somewhere to have asked KJO where he got this kind of script...it was so good. KJO gave him freedom to choose and he chose the role of Dara. Rest of the cast was decided after he was fixed.

KJo also went on in this tapecast BTS to claim that Ranveer is his partner for fashion, his soulmate in passion for cinema and the only person he could have such kind of an open chat with.

After his debacle of calling Ranveer "the other name" and "he doesnt even exist for me" when comparing actors with Kabir Khan (who chose Ranveer), Karan has certainly been forced to eat his words.

Takht is his last attempt at earning himself a good name as a director...this is not business but ART for him...thats what Ranveer saw in KJO about Takht and he mentioned this passion of KJo for Takht in a written IV too...Ranveer and KJo differ in personal opinions but they connect superbly on art and cinema.

That KJo ardently wanted Ranveer in his passion project and now must publicly promote Ranveer so positively is too sweet an irony and all too full of Karma.

^^@brienne Ranveer's name attached to a period film brings a lot of credibility and he has proven his box office pull. He himself joke that he is nw known as the costume drama specialist.

This is kjo's first foray and attempt at a period film so who else is better than to cast an actor who has exceled in this genre and has proven that he can carry a period film on his shoulder. For kjo at the end of the day everything is about money. This a strategic move on his part more than anything.

Still think it was a bad idea for Ranveer to sign this movie because KJO directing a period movie is laughable 😆 Also seems like KJO didn't know how to cast this movie, he went with all his besties + Ranveer..

Alia, kareena and Anil Kapoor 😕 😆 I hope they prove me wrong though.

At least the music will be good 😳 That's one thing that's good about KJO movies.
