It needs to change , it is changing..but the change is not possible overnight because of the vast population and various mindsets and prejudices..i dont see all this around me ... ..more and more girls are.now being educated and are getting aware of their rights. Yet women safety is a very big concern and only women can help to change this ...we as parents must teach our "boys" to respect girls...sad, the women are portrayed so weak, regressive , compromising in every situation that i dont find them real either.
Since tv is big social medium, they can make socially relevant serials which highlight the ills of the society. For the story, they have to show the extremities n then how people deal with it and change . A positive change...Rape, child abuse , domestic violence , ema is rampant, now they cant show it in a documentary style . Nobody will watch it . They have to show goodness winning over evil and the reason why such stories are accepted is that everyone deserves a chance if they are guilty of their actions. Again the storytelling matters... its a mixture of good and bad.
No my dear , i didnt call any society superior, nor was i comparing . My point was that all societies have their issues..
whatever is there on tv and films does not reflect the mindset of public . , its all fiction . Its far from reality .mostly...Thats why makers take liberty ...yes we can complain to the concerned authority if we find the content inappropriate.
