You're right. There is an aspect of mentoring here that good be very interesting to watch, especially since cooking is his area of expertise.

It's interesting how she feels he's always giving here these boring lectures, whereas from his point of view he's just sharing his experience and wisdom with here. The age gap can be felt in such things, and I guess women who marry much older men deal with similar situations where they have a lot to learn in life while their husbands patiently wait for them to "grow up".
