Being a child who was craving for father's love he accepted that but again when Chakor realised tht Imli and Vivaan were loving each other, she was the one who told Suraj that he has to let her go off (at the hospital) and he did...

First she was the one insisting to suraj about the child and made him develop feelings to father the child, then asked him to back off.

so only thing he decided on his own without chakor asking him was, to love chakor and love her uniquely just like the way she is.

And standing by that decision firmly all through his life, he made another decision too without asking her, that is to give his life for her😭

when think of suraj, i always remember sumi's words about her dude, he was made by god to love chakor. all his actions, happenings in his life indirectly connected to her.
